Rob Ryan would be more likely than Rex, due to his work with Belichick in the past. Rob has had some awful failures since then, though.

I think the news that Greg Schiano is leaving OSU to pursue NFL jobs can clue us into BB's plan, should Flores leave.

Flores impressed the Miami brass in his interview, and according to the Herald, is “near, if not at the top” of their list of potential replacements. They are expected to chat with special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi about the job this week before bringing any candidates back for a second interview, per the Herald.

Leaving out 2018 because it's still too early to judge that class, the Patriots totaled 33 picks from 2014-2017. Of those 33 picks, 12 (36%) are still on the team. Of the 12 still on the team, 3 are the only guys that you could consider impact players. Out of 33 picks. That is not good drafting. On the plus side, however, they have had some success with UDFAs.

The coaching exodus appears to be overblown. Flores is still in the mix in Miami, but there are more experienced people out there with at least Coordinator-level experience.

The player turnover will probably be significant from a name standpoint, but not in numbers. There's a good young nucleus at every position group except for QB and the receiving corps.

The Pats have a load of picks in the 2019 draft one #1, two #2s, two #3s, one #4, one #5, one #6 and 2 #7s. They are also in line to get four compensatory picks.

Belichick will have lots to work with in trades or upgrades for a guy or two he really likes. If Wynn, Bentley, Sam and Dawson can pan out in their sophomore years, it will be like having a huge draft haul. D-Line, QB and Receiver are the top three needs. It would be nice if they could bring in an experienced pass catching TE

Agree but you have to innovate.
Its not likely but you never know.
Chances are their is some assistant at a division 3 school getting Gatorade and coffee for everyone.
Writes up plays that get laughed at that is on BBs short list.
Everyone will be like who then we lead the league in points against.

Man not sure how we’re gonna replace our Character Coach.

(Although it was funny, shortly after I posted this there was a big article about him, he actually seems integral to the team culture, so what do I know?)

But is there a poster here who wouldn't trade defenses with the Browns straight up?

If there's no movement with the coordinators (and it's starting to look that way), then I wonder if any of the position coaches have expiring contracts and could make a lateral move with better perceived upward potential. Guys like Schuplinski, O'Shea, Daly, and Boyer could all be looking for added responsibility that they're not going to get while everybody above them stays in place.

Just hopefully it would work out better for them than for Pepper Johnson, who left the Patriots to work three years as a position coach, spend 2017 and 2018 out of football, and now coach in the AAF.
