You keep repeating this "no sports until 2022" phrase while numerous posters have already pointed out that this is about empty stadiums and not a blanket ban on sports until there is a reasonable and safe way to reintroduce massive audiences without it becoming a potential super-spreading event.
The individual to whom I was replying stated "No vaccine = no practice ---- no practice = no games" and "Players can't spend a dime if they're dead." I was asking him about the plausible scenario where no vaccine is created and widely distributed within the next 18 months (yes I know some vaccines are in the trial phase, and let's all hope one of them works and gets to market soon, but 18 months is a plausible scenario.... could take shorter, could take longer).

Yes, it seems the majority in here - myself included - anticipates there will be empty stadium contests this year, but I was trying to gauge the opinion of one who clearly stated that there should/will not be sports before a vaccine.

I think it would absolutely neuter the home field advantage of places like KC and Seattle and Buffalo. Not that it’s a bad thing for the Pats since they’re supposed to play road games there.
Why do I have a feeling that Bills mafia would still show up to tailgate, even with empty stadiums?? Like there's anything else to do in Western NY????

Nevermind then. I didn't realize it was a specific reply. My bad.

Did someone say Bills Mafia??

Yeah right, put millionaire players in a pseudo-prison, it'll work...rolls eyes.
Soon the NFL will roll out their own paid "medical experts" to give their blessing...like they did with CTE.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is the leading immunologist in the country and the face of the Trump administration’s fight against the coronavirus. Fauci said this week that he could see the resumption of sports, if two conditions are met: no fans in the stands and players sequestered in hotels with regular COVID-19 testing.
“There’s a way of doing that,” Fauci told Snapchat’s Peter Hamby as part of a weeklong interview series, per ESPN. “Nobody comes to the stadium. Put [the players] in big hotels, wherever you want to play, keep them very well surveilled. ... Have them tested every single week and make sure they don’t wind up infecting each other or their family, and just let them play the season out.”

Starting the season in October is counterintuitive to the suspected arc of the Covid virus. It is expected to WANE during the summer months and then ramp up in the fall when temperatures plummet. Therefore it makes the most sense to start the season ON TIME in September and monitor the situation as the season moves into the fall months, calling a halt to play if the virus reappears virulently.

Do you disagree with Dr Fauci?

If you think this is a “pandemic of biblical proportions” then you are phenomenally ignorant of history.
If you want to cower at home, that’s you’re right. So what’s your solution? Everyone live in fear for the 2+ years it will take - if we’re lucky - to develop and distribute a vaccine? No sports until 2022?
You internet tough guys are a joke. No sports till 2022, awwww poor baby. Everything is easy when it's someone else taking the risk for you to have cheap entertainment. Football players are not front line workers. African Americans are dying in higher proportion than anyone else.

What happens to Andrews if he catches this shyt with his blood clots? What about a 350# fatty?

Go spend a week working in a meat packing plant or cleaning floors at a hospital w/o PPEs and then come brag about not cowaring, until then STFU.

Yes, life does need to go on at some point. That is a political decision. The governor decided to let their people have their way, and to allow an ADDITIONAL 60-160K to die.

To be clear, the UWash estimate with stay at home orders was 60K, and then 72K with very minor decreasing of restrictions, pursuant to a very good 3 phase plan announced by the president. The president and the governors decided that this was no longer good enough, and now the deaths will increase in bot the first and the second wave.
Yea so what, most of those people will be blacks or poor or old useless people.

Can't let the bald, fat, white dudes sitting on a couch stuffing their faces miss out on football. What's Mureca w/o football.

Your ignorance is on wide display here. It is not anti-intellectualism, it is recognition that there is so much we just don't know and even the all-mighty scientists have been getting it wrong as often as not. There are no models out there which have consistently gotten its predictions correct.

I have been tracking these models and monitoring their performance. FACT: On April 29, your UWash model projected a total of 72,860 deaths in the U.S. by August 4. We will hit that number either today or tomorrow (I haven't looked the the current day totals yet). It took us one single week to hit a number they said would take 14 weeks. Don't tell me that was all due to the idea that a couple states loosened restrictions on May 1.

And don't sit there and lecture us on how wise and all-knowing scientists are. A model is only as good as the data and the methodology, but even the almighty scientists - of which I am one - cannot create accurate models when there is still widespread disagreement regarding transmission rates, mortality rates, impact of mutations, potential seasonality, unknown effects of different treatments, etc.
That's why Deranged Trump worshippers like yourself follow Trump's gut on these matters.
:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Every year we go through boughts of players catching the flu and infecting the locker rooms. The fact these guys are athletes won't exempt them from catching the virus that's 3 to 4 times more contagious than the flu. This nasty virus will wreak havoc with guys in the trenches. Player gives this to an over weight mom or dad and they die; nobody's going to care? Fauci's being facetious with above answer.

I'm anxious to resume living my life. I know you will be cowering in your mommy's basement but I'll be out there contributing to society.

Lol, clearly he's being facetious. His answer is so impractical it's ridiculous. Maybe AB would follow his rules. :haha:

now now, little boy, run away and hide.... Just because you're a little scaredy cat doesn't mean everyone else is.

No one should be forced to play who doesn't want to play. But the players who want to play - of which there are many - should have the opportunity to earn their living. Why are you so afraid of professionals exercising their free choice?

Afraid of players exercising their free choice? That sounds like you with your Whaaaa, whaaaa no sports until 2022 crap.

Man up and stop your whining. You sound like @TommyBrady12 all stressed because he can't get to the barbershop. You guys sound pathetic.

You know, you really *don’t* have to be an angry assh*le 100% of the time.

Lighten up. You’ll live longer and enjoy life more.

Do you disagree with Dr Fauci?

I don't disagree with the precautions but his solution to essentially place athletes under house arrest is laughable.

I was looking at the camp reopening guidelines. The daily screening they’re going to be doing is fever-based.

haha
HaHaHa!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Yeah, it’s ultimately gonna be a zero-game season. I just hope not too many players die or get their health permanently effed up before the NFL realizes that.
