Remember that the Pats brought in RFA Benny Cunningham for a visit earlier in free agency; understanding from someone (Reiss?) is that the Pats didn't make an offer because they felt whatever they would do, the Rams would match.

Davis fits a similar profile -- 5'10" guys, 220-225 lbs, who have been stuck behind big-name players in the power running back role (Charles, Gurley) but have had success at kick returner. We haven't had a good kick returner here since Brandon Tate, and the new 25 yard touchback rule might actually emphasize kick returners more. Intriguing....

Absolutely. Plus Pats have a ton of 6th and 7th round picks and BB loves low value type trades. Plus West and Ware got extended so Davis would be the "odd man out" if you will.

I would not move Vollmer IMO.

The first trade though would be a great trade for both sides.

Looking at having to free up cap if we are extending the big 3 on D.
Its a moot point its such a good move getting Davis this has Dolphins splash written all over it.
If so the bright side is it pushes a good back to us

People always talk about how Belichick brings in players that have performed well against the Pats.

Davis is the opposite. He's a guy with a fumbling problem whose most recent fumble was in a playoff game against the Pats.
