I know they aren’t the same type of player, but the Chargers aren’t paying SJD that kinda money to be a back up. Think this takes them outta the RD 1-2 DT sweepstakes?
Would be nice, would love to see Jordan Davis fall to us.

This is a normally day in free agency for the pats. Last year was not.
Whatevs. I expect the new TEs and WRs from last year to grow this year along with new QB. Book that BB agrees, hence no big plashes on O so far.

That said. I’m an idiot.
Haha

Honestly I missed that.
However he would be my third choice on that list.
Would take the Players Rthyming with Shark and Books first.

Don‘t worry. I am the idiot who posted the bogus Ian Rappaport report. I was making fun of myself.

With the Pats needing help at RT, is there a Marcus Cannon reunion with the Patriots?

I heard of the Golden Girls not the Golden Boys.

They have $11 million in cap space, which is not a ton. Bill usually saves $5 million for rookies and emergency money, so that leaves around $6 million. Unless he ends up making more cuts or extends some contracts, you're not going to get much with that much money. It's basically enough for a mid-tier player.
Severe cap mismanagement by BB

They can easily free up money by converting salary to signing bonus.

There is a lot to be said that an offense, which was above average, will improve with #1 QB, 2 top TEs and 2 of 3 top WRs in their second year together.
It’s kind of funny how the chicken little squad griped that signing a bunch of free agents would mean the offense would suck because there were so many new players at once, yet when it didn’t they now dismiss that it will improve after all those guys have spend a year and off-season together.

Letting JC go like that would further confirm comp picks are back in play this yr.
Bill is not throwing away 3rd rounder.
So look at the no comp FAs first.. (Flowers, Goldman, AJ Klein, D.Williams, Turner, Lamm, Hamilton, Bouye, T.Young..)
Then the mid tier $ FAs.

ATM one comp FA is prob “free“ on account of losing Karras (prob just a 6rd comp pick).
It will be a math game as much as contract game (f.e. if they lose T.Brown they could go for one top FA etc)
Trades in play as well.

Brown doesn’t count in the comp pick calculation, so losing him doesn’t help. The new “maximum possible term” rule primarily closed the option bonus loophole that the Patriots had previously taken advantage of, but also applies to renegotiated contracts that reduce the term. Brown had two years remaining on his Raiders contract, but agreed to make it just one when traded.

Indeed. But the post I was replying to had Langi unsigned, if you look ...
What post? I went back and looked at your message and there was no post in it you were replying to..

The Pats signed four of their own players.

Please show where in the CBA it says that Brown doesn't count in the Comp Pick Calculation.
Appendix V, Section 8 includes this sentence:
“No UFA shall qualify as a CFA if the player’s NFL Player Contract is renegotiated to reduce the Maximum Possible Term of the contract.”
