You don't seem to understand how the league works.. The owners hire the Commissioner and the Commissioner is the Head of the League Office.. He hires/fires people there. The owners have nothing to do with that process because the League Office is a separate business entity. The only way for the owners to effect change in the League Office is to replace the Commissioner.

I fully understand how the league works. I know that the POS commissioner calls the shots and Kraft is unwilling or unable to change that. My point is that Kraft has been reputed to be fine with Goodell and I find that absurd based on how the Pats have been treated.

Which part of the brief says this.. I know they mentioned that Berman didn't rule on them. But I haven't seen where they asked the CA2 to do so..

What I DO see is the League asking them to basically IGNORE those other 3 items and just make a decision without remanding it back to District Court..

I remember seeing that on my read through. The league's way of asking that it NOT go back to Judge Berman. Wonder why????

Shmessy - Did you read my post correctly? Because I didn't say anything remotely close to what you're implying.. My post was in response to FLASox23 (and Nikolai) not understanding that the League Offices are a separate Business entity and that the League owners have no say over the hirings and firings unless there is majority or they replace the commissioner..

The problem isn't the severance, as you state. The problem is that he is wildly popular with the loser owners who do not run their franchises as well as Kraft and are sick of looking so bad in comparison.

The question remains "Why the hell would they want to fire a guy who is there while they make oodles of money and takes draft picks from the Patriots?'

So first the NFL* tries to dictate to Berman on what he can and cannot do and now they're telling the Appellate court what it can and cannot do.

I'm not saying that he could just snap his fingers and they're gone, but a supposedly influential owner should be able to influence something, no?

If he had bought something for his capitulation, it might have been to get rid of some of those that he has tried to shift the blame towards. He's so ineffectual, he couldn't even get that much done.

goodell isn't going anywhere. as you said, owners like jones, mara, tisch, bisciotti, irssy all were satisfied with his response to deflate gate. there might be 3-4 owners who want him removed.

the only way goodell is fired if he is arrested or something, which I am still hoping will happen.

You do the math.

In the past 4 years, the Saints owner "capitulated". The Redskins and Cowboys owners "capitulated". Kraft is not the first owner to get hit.

The last owner to take on the NFL was Al Davis over a third of a century ago.

And by the way, he OWNS AN NFL FRANCHISE. Put aside for a moment WHOM the target of this particular case is, he WANTS the NFL to win on the CBA issue.

Furthermore, WHO do you think was one of the major architects of that CBA agreement while his wife was on her deathbed??? Kraft's not going to go back and chop down that tree he planted.

If he could have his cake and eat it too, he would want the NFL off of Brady's back but the courts to uphold the NFL's powers regarding the CBA.
