You don't seem to understand how the league works.. The owners hire the Commissioner and the Commissioner is the Head of the League Office.. He hires/fires people there. The owners have nothing to do with that process because the League Office is a separate business entity. The only way for the owners to effect change in the League Office is to replace the Commissioner.
I fully understand how the league works. I know that the POS commissioner calls the shots and Kraft is unwilling or unable to change that. My point is that Kraft has been reputed to be fine with Goodell and I find that absurd based on how the Pats have been treated.

sorry...you have to wade through that post...here's the twitter link

Kensil needs to be wearing a number along with pal, Rog

He better never show his face in Foxboro again or he'll be wearing tar and feathers.

Which part of the brief says this.. I know they mentioned that Berman didn't rule on them. But I haven't seen where they asked the CA2 to do so..

What I DO see is the League asking them to basically IGNORE those other 3 items and just make a decision without remanding it back to District Court..
I remember seeing that on my read through. The league's way of asking that it NOT go back to Judge Berman. Wonder why????
If I get time later I will try to post the link...

EDIT -from pg 28 of the brief,
"Finally, there is no reason to remand the case for the district court to resolve Appellees’ alternative claims, which were briefed below and are plainly meritless. This Court has exercised its discretion to enforce an arbitration award without a remand in similar circumstances, and judicial economy supports doing so here"

I'd love Brady to be the one to hand them over and say it on National TV.. Defamation suits from him, McNally and Jastremski.

That'd be awesome. I think it needs to be a third party to serve another, though.

Sorry, DB, but you're projecting our feelings onto 31 people who don't quite see the world through the same prism.

Why would they ever want to replace him? He is doing everything 31 owners have told him to do.

1) Shower them with more money they could have ever dreamed of

and

2) Go after the Patriots

I predict he'll get a healthy RAISE.

Any justice will have to come externally.

@Joker - that Kensil bastard was setting off my spidey-sense from the start of this mess. Color me unsurprised.

Shmessy - Did you read my post correctly? Because I didn't say anything remotely close to what you're implying.. My post was in response to FLASox23 (and Nikolai) not understanding that the League Offices are a separate Business entity and that the League owners have no say over the hirings and firings unless there is majority or they replace the commissioner..

Sorry for the confusion - - was referring more to your earlier post #256 in this thread :
--
"Kraft can "ask" for Goodell's resignation, that doesn't mean he'll get it.. Kraft would need 22 or 24 owners ALSO demanding Goodell's resignation for him to have to give it.. Otherwise, they are stuck with him.

Personally, I think that Kraft and the rest of the owners have more than enough to fire Goodell for negligence and conduct detrimental to the league. The problem would be how much they'd still owe the bastard as severance."
--

The problem isn't the severance, as you state. The problem is that he is wildly popular with the loser owners who do not run their franchises as well as Kraft and are sick of looking so bad in comparison.

The question remains "Why the hell would they want to fire a guy who is there while they make oodles of money and takes draft picks from the Patriots?'

Sorry, but the post I quoted would have me believe that you don't. It's well known that many of the other owners are satisfied with the job that Goodell has done on "Deflategate". So,k even if Kraft wanted those people gone, he has no way to get it done.. Which isn't what you said..

OK.. But again, my response was directed at Gumby who said that Kraft should have asked for Goodell's resignation.

Has he yet asked for Gotohell's resignation???............NO.

Has Kraft essentially said he and gotohell have mended fences and can 'work' with each other.............YES

OK, I see that now. Sorry for the confusion.

So first the NFL* tries to dictate to Berman on what he can and cannot do and now they're telling the Appellate court what it can and cannot do.

I'm not saying that he could just snap his fingers and they're gone, but a supposedly influential owner should be able to influence something, no?

If he had bought something for his capitulation, it might have been to get rid of some of those that he has tried to shift the blame towards. He's so ineffectual, he couldn't even get that much done.

goodell isn't going anywhere. as you said, owners like jones, mara, tisch, bisciotti, irssy all were satisfied with his response to deflate gate. there might be 3-4 owners who want him removed.

the only way goodell is fired if he is arrested or something, which I am still hoping will happen.

Man, they just can't stop themselves from radiating the smug and arrogant. Tut tut, we caution you on judicial economy. Be frugul, like US!

There you go. Why would ANY of the other owners want to get rid of the guy who just ups and steals NE draft picks every couple of years.

1/32.

You do the math.

In the past 4 years, the Saints owner "capitulated". The Redskins and Cowboys owners "capitulated". Kraft is not the first owner to get hit.

The last owner to take on the NFL was Al Davis over a third of a century ago.

And by the way, he OWNS AN NFL FRANCHISE. Put aside for a moment WHOM the target of this particular case is, he WANTS the NFL to win on the CBA issue.

Furthermore, WHO do you think was one of the major architects of that CBA agreement while his wife was on her deathbed??? Kraft's not going to go back and chop down that tree he planted.

If he could have his cake and eat it too, he would want the NFL off of Brady's back but the courts to uphold the NFL's powers regarding the CBA.
