Attorney ethical rules require loyalty to the client. So, villifying Wells makes zero sense. There is no ethical requirement that he be fair to a third party. He can't commit fraud or help his client commit fraud, but, as bad as the NFL's conduct has been, it is not actionable fraud.

true that........the fact that there's a massive market for Wells' talent and the amount willing to be paid out makes the flipside sound stupid

Wells didn't have to take that case, and do that press conference where he basically lied and said he was independent. That is not ethical behavior. If that is normal for a certain type of lawyer, then that certain type of lawyer does not behave ethically. People can rationalize, confabulate, and start whipping out wads of cash all they want to justify it, but they are still just saying "Look how much money that whore makes, he's awesome at being a whore!" If thousands and thousands of people do it, then thousands and thousands of people are whores. THis is not news: why do you think there are so many lawyer jokes, and why they are so despised? Because thousands and thousands of them will do morally objectionable things for money, even if it hurts innocent people. Like Tom Brady.

Obviously there are crappy lawyers that do pro bono work too. But Wells is a special kind of piece of **** who under a patina of objectivity wrote a non-independent hit-piece of Tom Brady. Because thousands of others would have done it doesn't make it right. It means thousands of others are also pieces of ****.

If the character Kathy Bates played in Waterboy posted here, I think her posts would resemble this one in many respects. Although I doubt that she would use the word "patina".

I'm posting in the same thread as you.......you give yourself way way way too much credit if you think its about following you around

the only thing this is about......just as with wells, just as with kraft, is the notion of what is right or wrong being strictly bound to the matter of your opinon, and then trying to reason out an insult of another because they call you out for it

you don't know more about anything than anyone else here.......you really need to stop acting like you know better or you live by a higher set of values because honestly, the majority sees right through that ********
Never acted like I know more than anyone, just voicing my opinion and explaining why. It is your choice to make it personal and my choice to cease communication with you because you do. Its that simple.
You absolutely do follow me around. You consistently reply to my posts by making personal comments about me, rather than the topic, post, or opinion. That is childish, and I am done with it.
If you wish to keep it up, I will continue to point out your obsession with me. If you choose to stop, we are done. Pretty simple, huh?

Why? Since Goodell was looking for an honest report that could prove Brady innocent, Wells decided to cheat and risk his 5 million fee?
Huh? No doubt Goodell requested proof of guilt. Wells chose to put together a factual inaccurate, scientifically incorrect, and intellectually dubious report.
Are you really saying that since Goodell asked him to write a dishonest report, and paid him to do so, that this make Wells hands clean? Really?

Fact is that we know what the temperature and relative humidity is typically in the official's locker-room.

How do you know that?

The temperature on the field during the game is not an assumption. You claiming they are is absurd. And we have the measurement data that they recorded.

Where was it recorded?

The main point is that the actual readings of the balls was unlikely to have been exactly 12.5 psi. Since they were not recorded, that is a huge assumption.

LMFAO......projecting with the obsession ******** again
Amen. Not only did he actively ask for us to extend Goodell the benefit of the doubt, but he criticized me for refusing to do so.

How do you know that?

Because it's been published by the Patriots.

Where was it recorded?

The main point is that the actual readings of the balls was unlikely to have been exactly 12.5 psi. Since they were not recorded, that is a huge assumption.

Where was the game temperature recorded? How about every local Boston paper and article on the game? How about the National Weather Service? Not to mention that the league records the temperature at game time on their Game sheets..

What the PSI of the balls were before the game doesn't matter since the league approved all the balls as being in spec. So they were all at least 12.5PSI. And that is the spec that Brady told Jastremski to make sure the balls were at.

FFS people. You all need to stop with this ridiculous garbage that the science means nothing. The fact of the matter is that the science proves that the balls could easily have been deflated by the weather. It proves that the weather is a much more likely culprit based on the readings the NFL recorded at half-time.

If/when someone can do a demonstrative video showing that a single person could let out 1-1.5 psi out of 12 footballs in 100 seconds while taking them out of a duffle bag and them putting them back in while not getting them confused, then I might believe that there were some shenanigans going on with the football.

Otherwise, there is no evidence at all that supports the claims of a scheme. There is no evidence that supports Wells conclusion that Brady was "generally aware" of the footballs being tampered with. And the TEXTS certainly don't prove anything but the fact that McNally and Jastremski were a couple of knuckleheads who had cool jobs for their favorite football team.

Of course that is wrong and you know it. Maybe you should post about something anyone might be interested in rather than your obsession with me which I'm quite sure no one is.

Claiming that Wells did an excellent job in earning his paycheck is laughable. He, quite literally, said 1+1=3. And you think that he did a good job.. SMH..

He did do an excellent job. He got the outcome his client hired him to get. That is the very definition of a good job, especially for a lawyer.

I know that you can explain it with science. I think you are arguing with yourself here. The point is that there is not enough precision in measurement to say that with any certainty what the beginning PSI reading was, what conditions were at the moment those measurements were taken, what the conditions were that each ball were subjected to (some were in play, some were in a bag for most of the half) and the conditions that existed at the moment each half-time measurement was taken, not to mention at what point after being taken back into the locker room each reading was taken. I don't think anyone is arguing that it doesn't appear that science can explain the deflation, they are saying that you can't argue otherwise because of all the uncertainties involved.

actually, you ALWAYS act like that........which explains why you can't tell

It only appears I am following you around......the reality is that I call out ********.....since that's pretty much all you spout, then I can see why you can't tell the difference with that either

And, you prove my point.
Now you are saying you can read between the lines of my posts that I think I am always right, and I, myself saying I do not think that is wrong, because you know better what I think, mean and intend.
See, your obsession with me is unhealthy.
Fortunately though, you keep your perfect record in tact by being incapable of posting without using personal insults. Bravo.
Again, I think no one on this board cares to read what you have to say regarding your obsession with me, so it would really be best for everyone if you find a different hobby.

Since no one cared about the PSI of the balls before deflategate I don't think you can make that assumption. They were probably all in the neighborhood of 12.5PSI. But I seriously doubt if the ref had measured them as 12.4 PSI that he would have rejected them.

Is it even a fact that the ref went through and measured every game ball before the game?

I would bet that Walt Anderson would say "It's certainly possible that some balls were below 12.5, and it's even certainly possible that some balls didn't even get gauged.", assuming you asked the question correctly.

neener neener.....I know you are, but what am I

leave it to you to baselessly speak for others........more of your 'I know better' ********.........they may not care to read my posts, but there are plenty who agree with them

"I think" is not speaking for others. STOP THE OBSESSION.

No one cared. I'm not sure if they initiated the investigation because of a Harbaugh suspicion coupled with an ignorance of the IGL and decided, after realizing the gas law predictions, that closing Pandora's box would be impossible without taking a huge PR hit OR it was a staged sting operation set up to hit the most successful organization because of some behind the scenes activity. Either way no one cared about air pressure prior to Jan 2015. Games played in the dead of winter in Minnesota or in the middle of the desert heat in Phoenix were played with balls well out of "regulation" pressure range.

I do think that it is hilarious that they have now found themselves in a tremendous battle protecting their "rights" under Article 46 because little ole' Brady stood his ground and Goodell could not swallow 0.2 psi worth of pride.
