I don't want to see Wilhite get benched for his poor performance on Monday night. The guy has shown some pretty good promise IMO especially for a 4th round pick. He seems to have very fluid and hips and can stay with his man pretty well. Colston and Wayne are two of the better WR in the game, of course Wilhite is going to have some issues in only his 2nd pro season.
I remember watching Revis develop as a CB b/c I get all the Jets games here in NY. His first season he started out great sticking with his man but he wasn't turning around and looking back to find the ball and make a play on the ball. Now, he's turned into a top 5 CB in the league who gives Randy a hell of a lot of trouble. I'm by no means suggesting Wilhite is going to be the next Revis, but we've got to give the guy a chance to develop and improve, and the way he is going to do that is by analyzing what he did wrong and coming out the next week and trying to improve and play better.
I know we have these recent memories of Wilhite getting chewed, but the guy I'm not as high on personally is Bodden. I don't think he stays with his man well enough and don't think he has the speed to stay with good WR. I often notice him getting beat out of cuts by WR's and playing with his back to the ball. Yeah he had 3 INT's vs the Jets, but Sanchez basically put the ball right in his arms. And I don't know what kind of horrible throw that was by Manning but that hung up there like a wounded duck. I'd actually like to see the Pats start Wilhite and Butler, and have Bodden sub in. I'd also like to see Wheatley get a chance as the nickelback because I think he has the potential to be very effective in that role.
Kaczur IMO is a backup tackle. I don't think he's a worthy starter and I never will. I'd like to see Vollmer and Light or even Mark Levoir play over Kaczur. The guy consistently gets beat and doesn't give Brady adequate time to find an open WR.
I really like McGowan and Meriweather and what they've done, but I'd also like to see Chung get on the field more often on defense I love the way he plays and he doesn't miss tackles like Meriweather does sometimes.
