I saw a ton of potential with him in the pick and roll. Soooo many lobs for easy baskets are there for the taking. Also, you saw how he alters shots. I will take some floaters that are outside normal shot parameters any day.
I think those are valid, possible comparisons but I think he potentially could be better than those guys.I expect Grant to be a more likeable Sullinger or Big Baby. Valuable in the top9 rotation but not a star
If it got them Kwahi, then it wasn't a mistake.

Philly is not a great team but they and the C’s are not “about even” at all.
Celtics look like the 3rd or 4th best team in the East. Hope they overachieve though.
Rarely does one get a star with a draft pick in the 20'sI expect Grant to be a more likeable Sullinger or Big Baby. Valuable in the top9 rotation but not a star

What’s a ‘star’?
There are plenty of guys who are starters and very solid contributors who back up the stars.....when I see gwill, my target bet is draymond green.....an assertive plugger with enough talent to get you 12-13 a game while Aggravating the crap out of opponents
Offensively, yes absolutely he has the talent to get you 12-13 a game.
Defensively is where Green makes his biggest impact. I do not expect Williams to do what green does (guard both guards forwards in the half court, handle pick and rolls and excellent in help defense). There’s a reason he was a DPOY winner.
Comments:
a.) NBA rookies are really young. These kids we have...none of them are older than 21. It takes a while for their bodies to bulk up and for them to pick up the pro game. 82 games is a lot of basketball associated with more travel vs. 30 or so in college with most games regionally except for tournaments. Kobe Bryant wasn't KB until his 2nd/3rd year in the league.
b.) As for Philly vs. Boston....I see it even across the board:
Embiid > Kanter
Horford = Tatum (apples and oranges...you take Horford for D and Tatum for O)
Harris > Brown (Harris is the more accomplished player now)
Simmons = Walker (apples and oranges again..you take Ben for D/passing, but Walker for scoring)
Richards < Hayward (believe Gordon will bounce back)
Now, that is a nice defensive starting 5....but beyond that they only really have Mike Scott coming off the bench and a promising rookie in Thybulle (who I liked for the Celts).
IMO, the Sixers will win more games this year just because they'll have Horford when Embiid takes games off to rest (or injury related). I am seeing 4-5 more wins for the Sixers this year (note that the dysfunctional Celts still finished 2 games behind the Sixers last year), but come play-offs...that bench is going to be tested unless they make a mid-season move to shore up depth.
I am seeing a lot of low scoring games for the Sixers as my strategy would be to win with defense and turnovers/fast breaks for easy baskets.
The Celtics are going to be a problem for the Sixers as well with all of our wings that can shoot and probably render moot the Sixers' strength in the paint if our shots keep falling. The Celts will have these guys come off the bench: Smart, Edwards, Time Lord, Ojeleye, G. Williams, Langford, and Theis. I'd expect the Celts to keep it close with Philly's starters....surge ahead with the 2nd unit....and force Brown to lean heavily on his starting 5.
The Sixers aren't even a "cut above", IMO.

Williams is both bigger and stronger than green.....but I think Williams is also more talented.....green came out of the box with a very hostile attitude
One thing they also have in common is that they’re both a little older than is your typical 19 year old in the first round....that means they’ve had a couple of years learning the body game at the expense of these one and some kids strictly working their offensive skills
Green was a 2nd rounder......few saw what his ability was which is easy to do when the only measurable is beating up on 19 year olds
