As far as Garrett goes, his greed knows no bounds and Haslam is stupid enough to fall for it.
What a terrible culture the Browns have established
It’s too late, but they can slow it down by implementing what the NBA does. Players have to hit certain markers in order to get top contracts. Mediocre players get mediocre contracts. A guy like Trey Flowers wouldn’t have been able to get a then top 3 contract for a DE. Trevor Lawrence doesn’t get his deal nor does the latest no name G in Robert Hunt.It is getting out of hand, but how do you stop it?
I was wondering how this will work out with Purdy (sorry if OT) i.e. do they keep giving the latest QB "to be paid" the new highest value? No doubt Purdy does get paid but maybe it's time to settle on a sensible number rather than a record breaking one. It’s too late, but they can slow it down by implementing what the NBA does. It’s a bargain now, but they had to deal Hill shortly after to Miami and now traded Thuney. Their roster is deteriorating.Cap goes up every year, we know this, idk why we are still kidding ourselves that teams will regret some of these contracts. We've been doing it here for years. People thought the Mahomes contract was insane, now it's a steal.
That it would take the NFL (The Owners) to make drastic changes, beginning with the next CBA.regarding what?
Sorry came in late and I am intrigued.
Purdy is playing for his contract this season. He got exposed pretty badly when he doesn’t have an entire pro bowl roster at his disposal last season.I was wondering how this will work out with Purdy (sorry if OT) i.e. do they keep giving the latest QB "to be paid" the new highest value? No worries D.Sorry, I skim and don't read every post.
We gave BB **** for placing a value on a player and sticking to it, but that is what it would take to end this craziness.Cap goes up every year, we know this, idk why we are still kidding ourselves that teams will regret some of these contracts. BB always saw the value in the player of how he saw him as a fit in the organization. We gave BB **** for placing a value on a player and sticking to it, but that is what it would take to end this craziness.
One would think the owners, who supposedly made their money by being good businessmen, would know how to make good business decisions. Yeah, there are “Thanks Dad” owners like Woody Johnson and Mark Davis and Jim Irsay who just inherited their wealth. But there are many self-made people in the group, and we see them perpetuating the problem, like Halsam and Jerry Jones.Owners need to smarten up and actually make good business decisions
If the dynasty Pats players played in this generation, guys like Brady, Seymour Wilfork and Gronk are leaving after their initial rookie deals. We gave BB **** for placing a value on a player and sticking to it, but that is what it would take to end this craziness.
I crucified him for letting Jakobi walk but if he allowed his value system an exception for one then all would expect it.BB always saw the value in the player of how he saw him as a fit in the organization.
You have to be very, very careful with the metrics because otherwise you might have players who are stat chasing at the expense of playing within the scheme. It’s a lot easier in the NBA where the rosters are a lot smaller and the stats tend to directly correspond to winning. The NFL is the ultimate team sport and many times it’s difficult to parse things apart. It’s too late, but they can slow it down by implementing what the NBA does. perhaps you think that he should have given up $10M AAV to sign with another team.He must value money way more than winning. Because there is no QB they can draft/sign/trade for that will get them out of the North cellar.
Most athletes value money over winning - and I don’t blame them.He must value money way more than winning. Because there is no QB they can draft/sign/trade for that will get them out of the North cellar.
