It's easy, and only takes a few moments. And if in a year or so he wants to come back, like Sean Payton, he'll be a hot candidate.Left while his brand is intact as opposed to going thru a rebuild, mired in QB purgatory. Good move.
He only has a job because his cheap owner doesn't want to pay for him to sitPer Reddit, there is a certain irony in the fact that the only AFC North coach to survive this season was Bengals coach Zac Taylor.
I imagine the media will be breaking down his door.
Not as a knowledgeable analyst, but as a personality. You think they'd want him? I never thought that Tomlin was all that bright to be able to handle verbalizing play breakdowns on the fly. I can't even see him in a studio setting, honestly. Not with that personality..
They should switch jobsHarbaugh and now Tomlin

About time
It is difficult to have winning seasons without a QB.It was time. No playoff wins in 9 years and they seemed to keep patching together teams that would never really go anywhere to maintain his "never had a below .500 season" thing. They need to tear it down to the studs and have a tank year and try and get in the running for Manning or whomever else emerges in the 2027 draft.
Well, we could always count on them being mediocre under Tomlin. God forbid the Rooneys hire someone decent.Should Make next years Pitt game a little easier with Steelers starting over with new coach and system

I suspect that it truly was a mutual decision.Wondering if this was his idea or Rooney's.
I suppose that his record was mediocre if the standard in the success of the patriots with Brady. Surely, a better coach would have done better, as Belichick surely would have without Brady. NOTWell, we could always count on them being mediocre under Tomlin. God forbid the Rooneys hire someone decent.
Anyone else thinking that he did not step down voluntarily?
imo, the Rooneys told him it was time... Gave him the option to step down instead of firing him...
The steelers maintained a level of success over the years, but that will take you only so far... haven't won a playoff game in what, a decade?
