Patriots Injury News Mike Reiss Provides Clarity on Jacas' Absence

Typical Kraft directive of nitpicking over pennies.
It's all so tiresome. The franchise is valued at 9 billion dollars.
why do you always take the conversation in this wrong direction?
do you really believe Kraft is making a decision on a 2nd round rookie contract language?
the agreement, stipulating if injured, Jacas would still recieve his slotted salary, is predicated on getting injured while practicing, not having a preexisting injury. which Jacas does have.
is Jacas even ready to take the field, healthwise?

His draft call is looking worse and worse by the day imo. Thats a dude that would seemingly do whatever it takes to get on the field period. Even one leg.

It's not clear if Jacas is asking for more, or the Patriots for less, because all of the medical issues.

Very messy, overall.
his contract is slotted. only the guaranteed money after year 1, and the timing of his bonus payout is under negotiation.

A labrum, foot, hamstring, and knee scope for "cleanup". But medically cleared.
At least the narrative to why he is not practising or signed now kind of makes sense.

A glass half full view could say shoulder labrums often aren't symptomatic anyway, the hamstring should have healed, the knee has been cleaned up, and the enforced recovery period won't have done the foot any harm either. He should be a full participant at camp and beyond.

But I agree with your previous post on another thread, there are questions whether the team fully understood his physical condition and what that would mean post draft before they used multiple picks to trade up, it also raises questions about what is going on with Jacas and his advisors. As you say from the outside it looks pretty messy.

Hopefully nothing more than "messy". We don't want it to get to the "ugly" stage.

I like your glass half-full view.

If Jacas had a 1.59 10-split in early April with a bad foot, knee, and hammy, imagine what he can do when fully healthy!

I'm confused about this pick now. What round was he projected to move? Were this medical issues not known/disclosed? Goodell is definitely going to give us an extra Round 2 pick in 2027!
