I can only interpret this as a positive sign about the development of our young WRs.

Sure we've gotten nothing but positive news about them but it's nice to see that the team might concur.

Exactly what I was going to say. The rookies, especially KT, is looking mighty good out there.

No surprise here. Thompkins, Dobson and Boyce were clearly ahead of him. He's also been injured which didn't help. Edelman at least got back on the field and playing while Jenkins hasn't. The receiving core is looking more and more like it's going to be "Danny and the Juniors plus a punt returner" as mgteich put it.

So four veteran receivers signed this offseason, only one remains. Amendola.

I saw it coming I NEVER Expected him to stick contrary to the popular veteran opinions.

Cutting a veteran early is very respectful .... the plan is going well.

He was always going to be a specialized weapon at best. Then he got hurt and by the time he came back the rookies had clearly surpassed him, specifically Dobson and Sudfeld showed that they can be red zone threats, which is all he was likely to be good for anyway. Best of luck to him, I like where we're at.

:agree: The kids are alright.

Crazy as it seems, the PatsFans TC consensus tends to be a very good predictor of how the roster actually shakes out. If anything, we tend to undervalue what our eyes tell us. E.g., we say "Hey, that unknown Francis kid keeps looking great and outplaying all the bigger names! Hope we can sneak him onto the PS." Whereas BB & co. see the same performance and actually put him on the roster.

I am pretty sure our Young WR's go in and out of their breaks alot faster than Molasses Mike Jenkins. He should be a speed dial though well into the regular season.

KT sends a 3rd vet packing.

Ain't nobody got time to watch Mike Jenkins run a route. Fare thee well molasses Mike.

Molasses Mike was probably the last one to hear about it.

Honestly, I am a little disappointed that I won't get the chance to see how slow he is with my own eyes. I gotta know, was he slower than branch last year?

I admit I thought he would surprise people and be a productive #3 WR possibly a #2, but it became clear early in camp that the youngins were so much better than expect that Jenkins was unlikely to make the final roster even if he was productive (which he wasn't).

Ben Volin ?@BenVolin 6m
Assuming Pats WRs are Amendola, Dobson, Boyce, Thompkins, Edelman, Slater, average age will be 25, with 3.167 years experience ...

Ben Volin ?@BenVolin 4m
Which would make this the youngest and least experienced WR corps Brady has ever had, by far. Previous lows were 26.3 and 4.167 in 2002

Age is even quite a bit younger if you knock off Slater because as we all know he probably won't catch a pass. Lot's of potential. Hopefully these guys can be productive for a long time.

Any opinions on Mark Harrison?

Wouldn't doubt we sign a QB to take some lumps in these next few games.
