There is a Patriot way, as evidenced by other teams. When was the last time anyone on the Patriots spouted off on twitter after a loss about if they won an individual matchup, as Emmanuel Sanders did this week? When is the last time a player on offense/defense called out the other side of the ball for not carrying the load, like Denver did this week?
You'll never, ever see it. If anyone does it they'll be taken behind the woodshed. NO ONE is bigger than this team. If they try to be, they'll be sent to Cleveland or Arizona, sometimes for pennies on the dollar.
The Patriots don't cater to the media or the fans. They don't care about storylines or flash. The coaches are smarter than everyone else, and they demand it of their players. Anyone who doesn't live up to this expectation is let go, and anyone who fits stays, no matter what they've accomplished or failed at in the past.
The team comes before everything, with a clear example being laid week after week by the greatest player in the game and the greatest coach. Other teams try it, but they don't have the right people in place to sustain it over the long term.
I am so appreciative to be living in this golden age. There will come a day when they'll be just like any other team, with WR's spouting off, a QB who has a good run and demands to be the highest paid in the game, defensive players who try to dictate offensive plays, or defenses and offenses fighting it out in the locker room, and a head coach pretending to be a reporter to get a laugh out of the media during a telephone interview.
In the meantime, enjoy the ride. I have stopped questioning anything. If BB sees something in Floyd, it will work and 30 other teams will wonder again how they were outsmarted. If not, he'll be gone before he ever becomes a distraction to this team.
