By the way if I’m Matty P and I have another offer my answer to Detroit is I’m bringing in my own OC and jb cooter can interview but it’s my decision.

...and apparently since Josh's wife is a MILF, he might want to conduct a background check.

Personal life[edit]
Cooter is from Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was arrested in 2009 on an aggravated burglary charge after getting into bed with a woman by climbing through a window of her Fort Sanders apartment. [6]

All signs pointing to Patricia to the NYG

i would hate to see patricia go to the giants...i can’t root for him to succeed in that organization.
Disagree. It's a solid franchise with reasonable ownership. The fans are obnoxious, but they're really the only fans left in the NFL with bragging rights on the Patriots. We don't have to like them, but we really can't hate on them too much for that. We do a pretty effective job or rubbing it in to all the teams to which the Patriots are superior and the "dynasties" whose dreams the Patriots have dashed over the last 17 years.

I don't see Patricia to the Giants and think Leonard is just stirring the media pot, but what do I know? If Gary Myers were writing it, I might take a "wait and see" approach.

My gut feel, after living 25 years in NYC is that it wouldn't be a good fit for MP. Can't make an argument for it...it's just a feeling.

Giants "reasonable ownership"? BS.
They were front and center along with Jerry Jones to slam the Patriots on both cameraplacementgate and defamegate.
They're jealous little *****es. It kills them that the Patriots longtime dominance has made them a small-potatoes franchise, not just nationally , but in the Northeast. F them.
But I like Matty P a lot and hope he succeeds, despite the scumbag, no-integrity ownership.

It could also be Matty's agent stirring the pot and getting the Lions to pony up more $$$ letting him think there is competition for his services....

I simply will not root for a team that beat us twice in the super bowl. Do you realize their idiot fans still talk about “owning us?” Also, less important, but if they win another super bowl, they will be tied with us.

LOL, who cares what they say? They're picking 2nd in the draft ffs.

Why?

A defense-first team, a history of stable ownership, a commitment to spending what it takes, loyal fan base, good draft capital.

The main downside is dealing with the inevitable exit of Eli and high media attention, relative to Detroit anyway.

I dislike their fans, in general, since they are so anti-Patriot, gloat so much over their 2 miracle runs, and are mostly Yankees fans too.

Still, it is a way better gig than Detriot

Hmmm ...

Well, Lions ownership/management appears to have made a course correction since WCFF, Sr. passed on to do his penance for the Pinto.

Bob Quinn as the GM seems likely to be a more knowledgeable and willing grocery-buying partner for MP than someone he's never worked with. And they'll have about $46M in 2018 cap space, although with a few key defensive pieces UFA in 2018. The Giants have only about $23M, with three of their top OL all UFA in 2018

The Lions team itself isn't in bad shape.

Stafford's pretty good (and consistent), and his backup, Jake Rudock seems to have a lot of potential. The offense needs a relaibly productive ground game - better RBs, better run-blocking (their OL coach, Ron Prince, got the boot with Caldwell) - and maybe one more significant receiving threat to go with Tate and Jones (who the Lions have on relatively cheap contracts).

The Lions defense allowed the 10th fewest passing TDs in 2017 and was 4th in INTs (the secondary has some solid talent), but was also awful again the run - 31st in rushing TDs allowed. Current DC, Teryl Austin, has been using a 4-3 base, but was also the secondary coach under Pees in the Ravens' 3-4 from 2011-2014, so he's at least familiar with other concepts. Don't know if he stays, though.

Plus, Lions fans have the patience of saints.

Hopefully we'll have 6 if they get 5, thats why I can't root for Jimmy G, the 49ers have 5 Super Bowl wins, I perfer that we are lonesome as possible on the top of Lombardi list, of course 6 ties us with Steelers but no more teams up there, I want us to have 7 at some point hopefully, don't want the Cowboys (5)/49ers(5)/Steelers(6) winning anymore Super Bowls

Yikes...

What a thug!

Patricia in the running for Giants Job?? Wouldn't want that for my Rookie HC gig...big lights big city. Mike Vrabel's name being mentioned for a HC gig is almost comical...what has he done to get consideration?? Seems like most NFL Teams are desperate in HC department. The BB HC Tree haven't proven successful on the NFL level yet.
Seven year coaching career to this point, the past year as defensive coordinator for Texas?

Reasonable in their handling of their own team, not their treatment of other teams.

Apologies if this has been posted.

Landon Collins doesn't seem interested in winning
“The way [Belichick] runs his organization, I’ve been through that process. I don’t like it,” Collins said. “It’s too strict. …. He’s a great winner, he’s a great coach. I don’t know if [his style] is what the organization really wants.

“I talked to guys who played for [his] team. They love winning, but at the same time, they don’t want to be on the team.”
