Martellus Bennett : [UPDATE: Placed on IR]

Allen's been crap, and the TE3 has 3 total catches on the season, as a pass catching TE. Bennett's been a disappointment in Green Bay, but has still been better than either N.E. backup. He may have a shoulder issue, though.

I heard this on local sports radio, so take it for what it's worth, but a popular theory is that Allen made up the shoulder injury to either find his way to be inactive or just outright cut. What gives this some legs is that this first came up on the first practice following the bye week. The Packers must also feeling he is lying (or grossly exaggerating) b/c they charged him with failing to disclose an injury.

Whether that's true, I don't know, but it's an interesting theory and could possibly mean that Bennett actually isn't injured.

Their season's going nowhere. Maybe they didn't like his attitude and he basically quit on them.

It's odd that someone disagreed with this. I find this to be a very plausible explanation.

I'm part of the camp that would love to see him comeback to the Pats as I can see why someone's motivation and enthusiasm would dissipate with Rodger's injury.

Bennett having hurt his shoulder last year was widely known.

Bennett, nursing ankle and shoulder injuries, was seen riding the stationary bike at the beginning of practice.

Martellus Bennett injury update: New England Patriots TE sits out of Wednesday practice

The Packers still passed him on his physical when they signed him. I'm not saying that they can't win a case, because we don't have all the details, but I am saying that they'd better have something more than just "All of the sudden, he's saying it hurts!".

Welcome home, marty. Bye dwayne allen.
