Manning is more skilled than Brady? Please explain.

It's about time the personal attacks finished guys. This isn't a politics board you know...

Back to the topic at hand or let this one die out?

Does this mean I don't have to defend myself anymore from my fellow Americans?

I hear ya - to answer your question, I think that Peyton and Brady both have to trust in their defense. I think Brady has an upper hand in the defense, not because the patriots have fielded better D's - but because he has a defensive genius as a coach.

I think that you did well in many of your arguments in this thread - but when you are arguing against Brady it's a hard sell - and not just to the Patriot fans that make up this board, but in general.

It does not help your case that you were arguing against him to some of the most knowledgeable people that post here (I'm not one of them BTW) and those same people represent a group that are so football smart that they are NOT homers as much as students of the game....along with being die hard Pats fans.

This has been a fun read. Well done.

Or maybe our defense is able to trust Brady not to put them in a bad position by throwing INTs.

Manning: 17 INTs in 15 playoff games
Brady: 12 INTs in 17 playoff games

I do think that Manning's playoff 'choking' is a little overblown; although he does clearly underperform in the postseason, there are a lot of factors that go into that. For Manning, I think part of it is that he goes from playing traditionally crappy defenses in a dome to playing a series of playoff-caliber defenses outdoors. That will hurt any QB. Brady less than most, because he consistently plays in crap weather, but that just goes to further show that his stats are negatively skewed (and Manning's are positively skewed) by outside factors. Part of the reason why I don't buy the stats argument for Manning.

I also don't buy using volume stats in Manning's favor. Throwing for as many yards as he has just says that he threw the ball a ton. It doesn't inherently say how well he threw it; when you get to efficiency stats, and adjust them for indoors/outdoors, Brady consistently surpasses Manning on both field and turf.

It means, discuss the topic at hand and leave the personal jibes to private messaging.

I'd be happy to oblige, my kind sir...always.

...of course, when hit, I hit back...just sayin'.

When I hear someone say "I would rather have Petyon Manning than Tom Brady" I instantly go from intelligent, educated football mode to "this person isn't worth the knowledge" mode. I cannot control this, it is just a natural impulse.

I'd be the same way if I were a Patriots fan. I don't have any doubt about that. It's hard to imagine that anyone will ever do any more for you team than Tom Brady has. You simply cannot put him down as a football player. BUT, there are others you cannot put down as well, which is a point here.

Let me ask you Patriots fans this question: is Tom Brady the best QB that has ever played the game? It's a legitimate question. The fact that I pose the question says a lot about what I think about Tom Brady BTW. If he isn't, who is better? Joe Montana? Who?

You know damn well that Manning and Brady are both first-ballot Hall-of-Famers. No question about that.

You always have to keep in mind that these opinions are something that you can't prove. That's why nobody is going to win the argument.

Actually, the argument has already been won. Not everyone realizes it yet.

At the minute for me its Montana, but another ridic season even remotely close to 07 and I think I'd say Tom Brady.

Montana had the weapons all over his offense. There was Jerry Rice, John Taylor for the second two and Dwight Clark and Freddy Solomon for the first two and of course Roger Craig in the backfield as well as an incredible line.

Now Brady got his classy bunch of receivers for the first time two years ago. He got all three rings with a pretty ordinary bunch of wideouts.

Stats only bring you so far but if he gets another ring, and has another season close to 07 then for me he is the better man.

I also don't buy using volume stats in Manning's favor. Throwing for as many yards as he has just says that he threw the ball a ton.
The funny thing is, that's the same rationale that Steeler fans use when they claim Brady is overrated and Roethlisberger is better.

And before you jump to conclusions, I'm not agreeing or saying Manning is better than Brady, or Roethlisberger is better than Brady. I just happened to see the line of reasoning and for some reason it reminded me of what many Pittsburgh fans say; that's all.

I think it's really hard to compare guys from different eras. There's guys who played in the Dead Ball Era like Unitas, Bart Starr, Otto Graham. Guys in the 70's and 80's like Stauback and Montana. And 90's and 00's guys like Favre, Elway, Steve Young, Brady and Peyton.

I think Brady could be top 3 or even #1 by the time he is done, but right now i'd say he is in the 6-8 range.

Buffalo Bills beat the Patriots 31-0

May 17 2009

Buffalo, NY
One of the proudest aspects of Buffalo culture has been the sports teams. Though not blessed with an abundance of great players or great success, the Sabres and Bills have enjoyed a rabid fan base that has not been affected by murder and repeated loss. After a long hard winter though, football is looked to as the salvation for many a resident of the city no matter the history of disappointment and this year was no different, until fullback Corey McIntyre was arrested last Thursday for exposing his sexual organs in public.oj simpson mug shot

“The people in Buffalo really can’t catch a break. They come out of six months of snow, are all excited for the start of training camp and the signing of Terrell Owens and then they have something like this hit them. Sure it’s not as bad as O.J. Simpson murdering people or losing the Super Bowl four straight years but it still seems like the city can’t catch a break,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “Add to that the likelihood that the Bills will eventually move to Toronto and you just can’t help but feel sorry for the people of Buffalo. Of course they do continue to live there when there are plenty of other houses around the country, especially now, so maybe they are getting what they deserve.”

McIntyre was arrested in connection with the incident sometime earlier this year in which he exposed his sexual organs to a 59-year old woman in Florida.

Since September of 2003 when the Buffalo Bills beat the Patriots 31-0, the Patriots have won 11 straight games versus the hapless Wide Rights, including a 31-0 whitewash to END the 2003 season.

Personally, I have only been through Buffalo in the last decade once, and even THAT was almost too much to take. I have no friends, family, acquaintances, enemies, pets or post cards from Buffalo nor do I ever want any. I do NOT go to any known Buffalo Bills fan sites for any reason, because there IS NO REASON, There is nothing I could ever learn from a Bills fan other than what a quadruple root canal without anesthesia feels like.I'm not a "dude" or a "dewd"...not even my grand kids use THAT hackneyed, podunk appelation...and when I see that printed in a post I think of a stoner sitting in mommy's basement watching Jacka$$ re-runs.

Other than that, we got a lot in common.

Roethlisberger can't touch Brady or Manning. The only thing he's got going for him is that I can now spell his name without consulting the dictionary.

The charges were dropped, and for good reason.

Exposure charge dropped against Buffalo Bills player McIntyre : St. Lucie County : TCPalm

Its stated rather clearly in the rules of the forum, that we are to treat visitors from other fansites with respect. Failure to do so will result in your butt being banned. However, these rules must be in spanish, because even the decent trolls get crapped on from the get go. Sometimes i wonder if any of the mods even look at the visitors forum

OK, so back on topic. Brady kicks Mannings butt. No proof needed to back up my opinion, because im right! Atleast that seems to work for some posters on here

'Decent trolls' is a bit unfair.

I think its a shame that alot of posters have such a low tolerance to fans from other teams.

Idiots like 'Joker' have no place on this forum - chest thumping , trash talking and only because he knows 99% of the posters on this forum follow the same team as him.

We have alot of knowledgeable people on this forum - we also have people like Deus Irae -if he has made a post that hasnt dripped with a patronizing, condescending, holier-than-thou attitude...well, I haven't seen it.

I know, that as Patriot fans, we come in for alot of nonsensical abuse (Spygate, Belicheat) that borders on the ******ed - but its no excuse for the arrogant attitude to visitors from other teams that is all to prevalent on this board.
