Yes, sir. We see it every single year. I’m fully convinced that our free agents are generally overvalued due to some of the reasons that you provided above, as well as prime time/playoff exposure, and the old “if Belichick liked him” line of thinking. They’re overpaying for former pats because they have the cap and their GM (who worked in NE in the past)believes these players can help bring a winning culture/mentality to an overall young team.
Against the Jags
Pats with Butler: 20 points allowed
Pats w/o Butler: 31 points allowed
Some context on Malcolm Butler’s reported 5-year $61M deal with Titans: the Patriots’ final offer before last season was for 6-years, $66M, with $25.5M guaranteed (five years on top of his restricted free agent tender of $3.91M). Same neighborhood.

But that makes NO sense at all !!! It would mean (gasp) that BB knows more about football than the avg patsfan.....Watch both of the Titans games from this year........he hasn't been remotely good.
You can say this 100,000,000 times.Against Pederson offense Chef’s 2017, 42 points with Butler
Against Pederson Eagles 41 points without Butler.
Butler admitted in an interviews after he left NE that the reason he dint play in the Super Bowl was because Belichick saw him as a player who wasn’t prepared for the game. Butler was at fault, not Belichick.

It’s completely wrong to say he did nothing to change it.Anyone with 2 working eyes saw that the defensive plan for the superbowl was flawed. Continuing to blame butler because Bill failed to adjust mid game is asinine.
Bill selected the players that would start, Bill selected the players that would continue to play. Bill watched his defense put up the worst performance in recent superbowl history, and he did NOTHING to try and change it. That's not Butlers fault, that's on Bill "General Custer" Belichick.
Who says he did nothing? They didn't use Butler but they certainly tried other things. Pretty sure we closed the other thread when everyone agreed it was Butler's fault what is with this renewed take. Hahaha.Anyone with 2 working eyes saw that the defensive plan for the superbowl was flawed. Continuing to blame butler because Bill failed to adjust mid game is asinine.

90% of the fans say it doesn't matter if Malcolm says he wasn't ready. Bill still chose not to put him in, therefore it is Bill's fault the Pats lost the Super Bowl.
Seriously, you'd think some team would go with no coaches and just win them all already. So stubborn to insist on coaching. You can just quote BB. Coaches loses the game, players wins the game.
