IF this is true - and the headline does sound a bit sensationalizing - this reminds me a bit of Jimmy and the Patriots not being on the same page for his recovery time in 2016. Which ended up with JG being shown the door. I don't think BB would have the stones or the audacity to sent Mac packing but I'm just sayin...

Did Mac Jones appear happy that he was forced to still do a press conference yesterday despite everyone knowing he’s out for a long time and this spy vs spy game Bill is forcing him to play is a farce? Where he had to say “taking it day by by day” like a dozen times? He looked and sounded completely pissed.

You never know. We have seen some relationships here crumble over far less.

I don't know about full validation but it does seem to lend some credence.
There have also been reports about some ongoing conversations between Jones and the team on how to proceed. One would think the report that they’re at odds about a return date would make sense. Jones needs to do what’s best for him in the end. The organization doesn’t care about his long term future. They want to win now and worry about later, well, later.

We have wins records to chase.

Or Gronk. Or Gilly. Players don't trust Patriots Doctors.

The comparisons to Tua getting that new ankle surgery are unfair IMO. Tua and his team were going for a National Championship. He had about a month to get ready to play TWO games and then he’d have an entire offseason to get right. That’s worth taking a risk and rushing back. Mac meanwhile is in a dysfunctional mess heading god knows where.

This

Mac is probably thinking "why the **** should I rush back to this dumpster fire of a coaching staff?"

Mac knows full well if he struggles, it'll not only make him look like a bust, but it will also be an excuse for the Patriots to not give him a big deal.

Yup. This is a different discussion if he has an AFCCG and a potential Super Bowl left before the off season like Rivers in the 2007 season. But he's going to rush back to play like crap and potentially damage his ankle and hurt his value for what? To appease some coaches who want to see him over extend himself?

Jimmy Stewart was the person who in the winter of 2021 reported that Kraft and Belichick had reached an agreement on Bill’s eventual departure and that Matt Patricia would be Bill’s successor.

At the time, I thought it was a very dubious report because I couldn’t believe Patricia would be Bill’s successor thinking for sure it would be Josh McDaniels.

Now 20 months later, Patricia had been signing contracts for the Patriots and has been practically sewed to Bill’s side since returning. Josh McDaniels has left for Las Vegas with Patricia replacing him as the de facto OC. So, Maybe, Jiiimy Stewart does have sources in the Pats organization.
Josh should be available for the Patriots again soon

Are we talking about the report from the Boston radio guy or has anyone reputable said that?

Would people even want that. This would be the second time Josh failed on his own and his team actually has some talent this go around. Meanwhile the Lions were the most embarrassing team for awhile and Patricia somehow managed to be their most hated head coach of my lifetime.

The minute Bill leaves, if those guys are in charge, it will only be a matter of time before the Kraft's decide enough is enough.

yeah but come on those were entirely different circumstances and I'd bet that injury situation played less than 1% of a part in the decision making there

That's true. I heard reports about the team being really unhappy with JG backing out of a game forcing a hobbled Brissett to play. Marty B had some things to say about that. Felt like he could have lost some guys in the locker room. This just reminds me of that situation a little where the team and QB are on different pages for his recovery.

Hopefully the team is giving Mac the benefit of the doubt and they should.
