Mac Jones Injury Video [UPDATE - X-Rays were negative]

I hope you don’t work in some type of management position at work.

Actually I do know. Off the top of my head I can think of at least 6. 2 during collegiate wrestling practices/matches, 1 during high school football getting tackled, 1 during drunk incident down the stairs, 1 while running at night stepped in pothole, 1 as a kid during baseball game stepping in drain in ground…all severe high ankle sprains.

They take months to heal, but in the moment no one screams like a little school girl. Stop defending him, only makes you look worse.
His reaction tells me he was in a lot of pain and afraid his leg was broken after probably hearing what he thought was a crack. That I get, especially after he spent the entire offseason relentlessly working heading into the season, only to potentially see it all end on one play.

You calling Jones soft without taking into consideration that kind of context is a little frustrating, to be honest. People seem to forget that the fear of losing an entire year is a big deal to players and based on your assessment, you're basically saying that we should be calling Gronk soft for his reaction in the Denver game when he suffered what ended up being a bone bruise.

Losing an entire offseason to rehab and potentially having it affect their future scares players. It doesn't make them soft. It makes them human beings.

Never said that. I said normal people don’t act the way Mac did regarding a high ankle sprain. And besides the very small percentage of patsfans posters, the rest of the nation agrees

Mac obviously was under McDaniels system his rookie year. BB as we all know brought in yes men to run the Shanahan style offense. No excusing the decision making for the throws.. however how does this help make 2nd year QB better? The best playmaking reciver in KB was Malcolm butlered.. this kid is up against alot.. you'd think the Hall of fame coaching staff would be focusing on Macs strength in wich he was drafted .
They weren't running the 'McDaniels' system last year and they aren't running the 'Shanahan' system this year. They're running the same system they've run for 20+ years with tweaks here and there each year.

I think the team can drop the charade that he's playing. Ain't happening unless "playing" means he's the emergency QB.

I mean do you really think his team mates are going to say, wow what a baby. So he is tough because he hoped on one foot off the field? Is this your theory?
I really think that they would say nothing if they thought he was JG

Gosh, pretty surprising he’s back on the field throwing this quickly

He has risen indeed. If it truly was a severe high ankle sprain and hes recovering without surgery, you’re not out on the field throwing. You are not moving that leg a millimetre for days for starters.

Either they lied when they told the press it was a sprain or he’s been touched by Jesus.

So basically he showed up so the media could send out some click stories and then they wheeled him back inside, boy GB will sure be confused now.
Yeah I’m sure that’s exactly what happened.

GB's game plan for Mac will be simple: go after his legs.

Better to sit him out on this one and let him fully recover to avoid further more serious injury.

I like you Ian and I admire you defending “our” QB very noble. You’re also jumping to conclusions what he may or may not have been feeing which could have validity..

But I’ll be short and straight. Why do you think the entire nation is reacting the way they are on social media basically mocking and humiliating Mac? The reason is a high ankle sprain is a very common injury suffered by millions of Americans. They know what the pain feels like. His over the top blood curling screams and agonizing faces don’t fit the injury. Again, like you theorized perhaps it could have been more of an emotional or mental reaction compared to a physical one, but in a league that requires gladiators ..it’s an odd look.

Patsfans for years mocked roethlisburger’s reactions to injuries, and now they are falling on their sword for Mac

They didn’t ever release that it was a high ankle sprain.
It may have been an ankle sprain but not a severe high ankle sprain.

Just stop. I doubt Jones was worried about looking cool at the time and was instead worried about whether or not that would be the last time he’d play this season. And Gronk confirmed exactly what I said to the media days later so it’s not “jumping to a conclusion” and I have zero reason to believe that Jones wasn’t worried about the same thing.

And who cares about “the entire nation” and what their reaction is? You’re stuck in this bizarre world where guys showing any type of fear or weakness makes them look soft. We sit here and just pencil guys in for the following year after a season-ending injury while dismissing all the pain and rehab they go through to get back. The Gronk injury immediately came to mind when I saw Jones go out and they reported the negative x-ray result. Like Gronk, he dodged a bullet with a sprain instead of a break.

And FYI, in the bowl game Jones got two of his teeth literally knocked out of his head and got back up and finished the game after refusing to come out while spitting out blood, and they won the title. That’s the guy I want out there and his reaction to a very real fear on Sunday doesn’t come close to changing my mind about that. I don’t need a macho guy. I need a guy who can win.

Can you fly with a high ankle sprain?

Did anybody on the Pats say it was a strain or the media got whatever sources they wanted to hear and went with it? This is not splitting hairs, but want to make sure you don't the Pats put that out there. We may have this all backwards. Between the Pats and Mac's camp, I wonder who wants to play this week. Something tells me the Pats will rather he not play this week.

Anyone who uses the "entire nation thinks" about the Patriots has absolutely lost any and all credibility.....assuming they had any to begin with.

Seriously? "the whole wide world says xxxx about the Patriots"

My god.
