You know Mankins isn't on the team anymore, right? There's a guy who would have gotten into it.

And they had probably been instructed to not get so many stupid penalties all through camp because there were so many of them last season. 4th and 1. To be honest, they were smarter about it than Mac was.
You have to protect your QB man.

i really don't see anything dirty.......the cut block was iffy......the protecting himself on the slide was fine, and grabbing whatever he could grab to keep a guy from recovering a fumble? he plays hard, he plays to the edge.......i'm ok with that.......he's not out there headhunting or doing stupid ass ****.......the whole narrative is over blown and contrived

I'll rub some people the wrong with this comparison, but remember how the Pats filmed their stupid internet series and got in hot water because someone didn't follow protocol with the Bengals? The Pats were the last team who should have been putting themselves in that position.

When you get a reputation, at some point you either realize the microscope is on you and you make an effort to avoid getting swept up in more of the same scenarios or you are just inviting trouble. Mac got a reputation. He needs to make the effort now to be mindful of his activities. And it sucks for everyone else to have to defend it.

Yeah, that's worked out so well for Brad Marchand.

The Brian Burns Ankle twist was 100% dirty and the cut block was as well as it was completely unnecessary. The high leg slides are questionable but he has a pattern of this behavior so he isn't going to get the benefit of the doubt. He isn't good enough to be doing crap like this.

There was no "twist" with malice....he grabbed the guy to keep him from recovering his fumble

You're as bad as Felger

I'm not sure I understand. You say he's dirty. Okay, I think that's overstating it, but ok. Then you say he's not good enough to get away with this. So if he was a better QB it's ok to play dirty by your definition? Great to know there's two sets of dirty play depending on skill.

Basically he isn't good enough to have to deal with these stupid headaches he causes with his crap. There is no need for it and I don't know why he does.

The 15 second mark in that video shows him clearly grab and roll with the ankle. I know he is the QB of our team but it is clear as day.

You're assuming malice......he reached out, grabbed what he could to try and keep him from grabbing the fumble, happened to be an ankle.....you're assuming his intent was to simply hurt the guy, I'm saying I believe my eyes and what mac himself said, and the simplest answer....in the heat of the play he reached out and held on, not wanting him to recover the fumble

You're falling into the same trap the boston media fall into.....wanting something to be true, so it is

I don't want our QB to be a dirty player but the evidence is there. Is the Sauce nut tap clear as day? No, but it looks like something happened based on that video and Sauce claims it happened as well. I don't hate Mac but this type of stuff is going to get him hurt via retaliation at some point and where will that leave us?

Imagine how much this narrative will ramp up if Mac actually improves to the point where he's a top 10 QB in the league.
