Logan Ryan..

I've never been a big Logan Ryan guy but for a reasonable price I'd be happy with him returning. He is a solid #2, most of the time.

4 YR 30 m...that aint happening. maybe 4 yr 40m. then you gotta pay butler more than that.

give him 4/35..8 signing bonus, 18 guaranteed. that guarantee is a top 12 guarantee for CB currently. even with some other signings should be a top 15

I really hope he stays. Butler, Rowe, and Ryan is a solid CB group. Maybe Cyrus Jones pans out but I hate to lose Ryan until we know how Cyrus is.

It would be nice to see him stay, but I can't see Bill allocating all this money to the secondary. Between Ryan, presumably Butler who's more valuable, and McCourty. That's a lot.

I can see Ryan getting $8M per on the opening market. I don't think he comes within $1M of that in NE.

All while the front 7 needs some major attention with Hightower and Branch being FAs (and guys like Sheard and Long as well). Especially after getting rid of Jones and Collins.

But with the CAP Rising its not going to be a huge problem..

That's where I stall out, too. I think in a vacuum we'd all like to keep the secondary together, but do we pay Butler and Ryan, when McCourty is already making top dollar? Interesting question.

I think Daron Harmon will be the one to stay. He's important to our safety depth, sees a lot of looks in big nickel sets, and should be much more affordable.

Belichick goes by his internal salary structure as much as possible so Ryan would have to leave a lot of money in the table. Good to hear that he wants to stay though.

I want them both over High if he doesnt love being a Pat he can roll.

Hard for me to see three high priced salaries in our secondary, assuming that we keep Butler.

Actually, when was the last time we had more than 3-4 major salaries on either side of the ball as a whole, let alone at the same positional grouping? I'd love your idea of keeping all, but it's difficult to envision.

It's a new league 5 d backs on the field an aweful lot. Some way to simple math but you could argue it wise to spend more in the secondary now at the expense of an LB hopefully not the one LB in particular but you see my point.

I think Logan gets vastly underrated around here. I still thought he'd get more on the open market than BB would pay but maybe there is still a chance.
I think he did get underrated, but he might be overrated now. People are throwing $8-10 million around. That sounds bananas. I've been wrong before of course.

I agree, I think some people have unrealistic expectations for certain positions and/or players
