New job opening on the Patriots website:Well... Let's hope BB can figure out a way to take advantage of this rule... Exploit some loop hole or something... Then the NFL will drop it like a hot potato
On the plus side, Nick folk can probably extend his career into his 50s if short kick offs are no big deal anymore
It's getting to the point where I'd rather they just do this, it'd be more entertaining:How soon until the league becomes two hand touch?

Unfortunately, the League is well aware that the people whining the loudest are still going to watch. Now the league can punish teams by screwing with their schedules. It is getting harder and harder to root for this league every year.
Or soccer, amirite?I do feel like there is a limit, though, in terms of f'n with the game. Ask boxing, or baseball. It's not unfathomable to see a decline over the next decade!

Dan Connolly explains it best...I'm having a hard time being outraged about this. No disrespect meant to anyone who is, but I really don't care much about kickoffs, and I don't think this rule (on it's own) is going to change much at all. Most teams want their KR to return the kick if it's not in the end zone, so I doubt we see many of these fair catches. The only time this is going to come up is if the kick is high and the other team's return guy isn't likely to break one anyway.

Corderelle Paterson also has a few poignant words of wisdom...
and Marcus Jones offered just a few thoughts on the matter last season...
