King Ron Rags On "paying customers" at Bucs game

Nope, I have seen at the games I have been to and it has been a constant problem for years, to the point where Jon Kraft has repeatedly made excuses for it. The Foxborough crowd sucks, unfortunately. Does that mean that every one of them isn't trying? Nope. But it is clear that as a group they just don't get it done, and it is actually going to be up to those attending to try and get it turned around, let's hope they can do so because it can be a huge factor, especially in the biggest games.

The crowd sucks.
1st level is at least a quarter corporate or Ticketmaster, the rest STs.
I sit next to corporate pukes (sect 113) who sit silent all game long; maybe an occasional clap or cheer after a big play or TD. Disclaimer, haven't been this year as my ST buddy's sons are of age and want the seats.

The sound of the boos Sunday clearly heard on my surround sound has convinced me that the stadium mikes do pick up sound and that they're not the problem why Gillette sounds so muted on TV. It's the crowd.

Really? I thought that there were quite a few 3rd downs that had a lot more volume than the low boos in the 1st quarter.

Though, I watch the game on a surround sound system with a sub-woofer.

I wonder if the people complaining about crowd noise have their tv turned down

I have a Bose subwoofer with soundbar and surround sound. My sound was up high for that one especially because my friend is a Bucs fan and he was over for the game. The booing came in louder than anything else. It is what it is. The crowd sucks ass. There are diehards there like Joker and Tunescribe, but the mutes in the red seats drive the volume of the stadium way down while crowds like Seattle pack a ton of drunks into the building that scream all day long. Basically a couple of thousand Tunescribes and Jokers.

That's my take on it as well.

Like anybody who was hired to write for the Globe's sports desk until a few years ago, Borges can flat-out write.

Unfortunately, that's long been a complete list of his professional virtues.

Basically a couple of thousand Tunescribes and Jokers.

Just when my faith in humanity was slowly getting restored, you somehow bring up the thought of a "couple of thousand" Tunescribes and Jokers....

I couldn't imagine what the world would be like with those two cloned into the thousands

...Supafly?...oh...you won't be seeing him no more...

Do not kid yourself. We would march with conviction, arm-in-arm, making this world a much better place for you and yours.

Borges: Extra prep time pays dividends as Patriots start to look familiar | Boston Herald

Borges excerpt:

While Borges is accurate about the booing early and cheering late, as an objective observation, I don't get the comment "Of course, paying customers are seldom realistic."

As if the act of buying a ticket makes someone unrealistic, Borges comes off as an arrogant lout because he is always realistic and is so omniscient he never has to pay for a thing. Of course.

What, precisely, is the point of backhanding the 60,000 people who pay the freight?

In Borges' mind, it must be that the great unwashed, who somehow have the wherewithal to pony up between $125 to $300 per ticket, are unable to discern what is transpiring on the field. The reporters and suits in the boxes who sit silently know best, and in time will enlighten those who dig deep to attend a game. Of course.

Borges is a poor reporter. Somewhere along the way he came to believe that just reporting the facts is never enough. If he just said that attendees were restless early and delighted late, and let us draw our own conclusions about the atmosphere, that would have been plenty.

Instead he has to demean the fans which, in a subtle and insidious way, renders their (our) opinion inaccurate about the game, him and his reports. The great ones take pains to describe in detail the facts and trust their readers to draw their own conclusions.

Borges chooses to insult us and preach from his self-appointed position of flawless insight. Of course!

I was in section 141 I didn't see any of that. The fans were very supportive of the team.

If you couldn't say the first, then Richard Nixon couldn't come on here and comment

Actually, his ghost does.

....and has almost 37,000 posts.

I can't opine because I won't click either

I won't either, but I heard it was Gregg Easterbrooke and a baseball only guy named Glenn Stout. You know Easterbrooke, the ESPN contributor who was reprimanded in public by ESPN's very own ombudsperson for going way over the line during Spygate.

It's like Rolling Stone using Ron Borges as its "expert" on the Patriots handling of Hernandez.

You might as well hire Mahmoud Ahmedinejad to write an article about Judaism.

The Globe knows full well what it was doing.

Signal #2,873 showing the Globe's agenda.

I wonder, just who owns the Globe?
