Kayshon Boutte: "How The Hell Did I Get Here???"

Boutte is an anchor player. Made two remarkable catches that helped us win. As clutch as any WR we've had. He needs to be signed to a long term contract. Maye needs him.
Obviously was rooting for him in general as he’s a Pats player, but that article really made an impression on me. I was so thrilled it was him who made that phenomenal catch. What a great personal redemption story. Glad he’s here and the team stuck by him!

That was the biggest catch by a Patriot since Edelman in the Super Bowl. He just makes big, clutch plays. Never seems to drop the ones that matter.

We need to make Boutte a bigger part of our offense. Dude is one of the better outside threats we've had on this team in awhile. I'd put him on the same level as pre-injury Malcolm Mitchell.

To me, what that catch and a couple others he made in this game told me, is that he's ready for more targets in tough environments, and he absolutely can go up and get a contested ball. That we need to start scheming him open because Maye can find him when he needs him.

He's probably not a pure #1 wideout, but he's definitely part of the future of this offense. Hopefully the Boutte continues to be wide open for a long time in this town.

Becoming one of my favorite players.

I watched his tape after the draft and was impressed and hoped we would keep him. I posted here he would dazzle the team in camp or something like that. Anyway it was a great pick.

Kayshon Boutte came up big in Two Playoffs Games: he's a champion who earned himself a Hefty Extension.

Next year will be fun with this WR room, after they get an off season with Diggs and learn some more separation technique. That's what's next for them - getting distance so they don't have to make spectacular catches like that to have impact. Douglas is showing some of that now.

He talked it and walked it. Respect Boutte. I thought he was too ****y before the game but he knows his game and he knows you can't defend him.

Texans have a damn good defense. It took a Boutte one handed catch to put it away. Seeing how tight the coverage was, I didn't think a catch was likely. If the Pats win the Super Bowl, this catch will be remembered for years to come like the snow kick.

I stand by the comparison I made earlier this year that he's a new age David Givens. Obviously Givens wasn't a pro bowler, but after being held out of the end zone in his first playoff game he scored in each of the next 7 he played including back to back Super Bowls. He didn't have prototypical size or speed for a downfield threat but he averaged 15 yards per catch in both 2003 and 2004. Not a star but just a good, solid receiver who you were happy to have out there because he knew what to do in the offense and how to make plays. I see the same with Boutte.

I think it's a stretch to act like he's irreplicable or must be retained at all costs, but they should absolutely be looking to keep him considering where they're at cap wise and how they don't have another obvious starting caliber receiver right now besides Diggs who isn't a long term option with his age.
