Kayshon Boutte: "How The Hell Did I Get Here???"

Status
Not open for further replies.
I would say a little under 35Mill gets it done. But I would still Draft a WR with #1 Upside in the upcoming Draft.

You never learn.

Who in the " WR #1" they are going to pick between 24-32?

2, you really need to think things through before saying **** like this, there is no WR 1 they can get there.

Thanks for posting that was a great read. Could almost hear him talking in my head as I read.
Best of luck KB. Be a patriot for a long time.

Because we gave him that NFL shot by Drafting him: it sounds like Boutte will give us that NFL discount extension.
Agreed twin that's why I feel like 3yr at 24 million he would be appreciative for and he's still a young growing player..

My best friend had a horrible gambling and strip club addiction in our 20's. He was playing Texas Holdem at the local casino nightly or going to the gentleman's clubs. I'd joke with him that he was the customer of the month/year. He'd go on his runs, but as it happens with 99.9% of gamblers, the house will take those winnings back. Went into denial telling me he's going to get it back. He didn't and eventually stopped gambling. We actually hung out with strippers outside of the club. If you've ever thought it was cool to do that - it isn't. Although they were nice to hang around, they have massive amounts of baggage.

And it's still pretty clear Boutte was deactivated for the rest of the season because he didn't toe tap in 2023. BB was getting spiteful towards the end of his tenure.
Re the strippers thing, most sex workers have horrific baggage. Most of them are survivors of sexual and domestic abuse. Often both.

The media glamourises it, especially pron stars, but when you actually read proper accounts and government backed papers you realise how much trauma they have suffered which, ironically, is what gets them into that business in the first place. They often leave the industry with even more trauma and issues than they had before they joined.

So yeah, I can well believe the reality is far far different than the fantasy of hanging out with them.

I think it's better to say the odds of guessing right at that point are slim but you can get a #1 receiver there and most #1 receivers are not coming before that.

Nacua: 5th round
Smith-Njigba: 20th pick
J. Jefferson: 22nd pick
St. Brown: 4th round
Diggs: 5th round
Pickens: round 2
McLaurin: Round 3
AJ Brown: Round 2
Davante Adams: Round 2

Of course, Chase and London top 10 picks but most #1 receivers are drafted in an area the Pats will draft or can trade up and pick. Just the odds of picking the right guy are against you especially when the team needs to address some deficiencies on defense.

Those guys you think are @ss-Holes ie... G Picken - A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf were all Second Rounders. Didn't BB took a swing @ 32 for Slow Poke N'Keal Harry the worse WR fit??

Can't you find a turtle GIF to go with that post? That would be a nice touch.

I liked this qoute:

"One thing about Drake, he doesn’t force-feed the ball to one dude — he’s not looking for WR1. He’s getting the ball to any and everybody."
That was a great article. I'm glad that I took the time to read it. Thanks @ctpatsfan77

I noticed that Boutte was using FanDuel. He was giving his money to Jerry Jones, instead of Bob Kraft and Draft Kings.

I was a gambler myself back in the 70's. I was heavy into the NFL and NBA but got out for the same reason that Boutte did. I had a child.

The only gambling I do now is private straight poker games with friends.

Props to Boute for opening up, but it may come at a cost. The teams will protect themselves in futures contracts.

You didn't answer the question. Who are you taking as your #1?

The only one of those 3 that I called an "*******" is Pickens. And your attempted at deflection didn't work.

I'm not saying you can't get a " #1" in the second round or later, I'm asking who that will be in this draft. Both Bell and Brazzell went down with significant knee injuries late in the season.

I said Draft a guy with WR #1 upside: they're many guys: you take a chance in Rounds Two or Three ie... Malachi Fields 6-3 225 - Nic Anderson 6-3 220 LSU - Elijah Serratt 6-2 220 Indiana *watch him Tonight* - De'Zhaun Stribling 6-2 200 Ole Miss *played last night* - and Ted Hurst 6-2 185 Georgia State. As you can see I'm going for WR's with Size: Vrabel and Co could land a Day 3 gem like Puka Nacua or Isaac TeSlaa.

I saw this question posed and I realized that I could never answer it. I haven't followed college football for more than 20 years.

It's the same reason I couldn't get into the draft here, even though I tried.

The first time I see most players play football is in the NYFL.

I do like the idea that the NCAA players are being paid now.

We could get him in FA: I was pimping him the year we Drafted the Bony Guy.

Well I did.

You would disqualified all those other guys as #1 for various reasons too in past drafts.

You're right that you're never going to get someone who "on paper" looks like an obvious #1 WR in the 2nd round or later. If they looked obvious on paper as a #1, they wouldn't go in the 2nd round or later. But careers play out wildly different than draft projections a lot of the time, good or bad.

Never in any given year would I bet $1K on any specific WR drafted in round 2 or later being a #1 WR because there wouldn't be a specific player I have confidence in at that projection. But if I could just bet $1K every year that SOMEONE at WR drafted in round 2 or later becomes a #1... I'd probably place that bet every year and come out on top over the long haul because there's usually someone who outplays their projections.

Key is to just scout well and hope you're the team that lands that guy.
