Julio Jones (June 6 Update - Traded to the Titans)

Idk Idk ...

He would have been the best player on our team on a cheap contract in a position of need. For a 2nd.

Good on Tennessee. I love when teams go for it. Why not? That offense just went from really good to you better have 3 legit CB's and a solid front 7 to compete all game. Talk about being physical on offense and being a bully. Good luck to opposing DB's on Titans day.

Falcons are just ... They're planning on ... Honestly no F'n clue. Basically spinning their tires for the next two years. Tough day to be a fan. Jones & Sanders are the best two players that team has ever had and both ran as fast as they could away from Atl. Not a good look.

Tampa is likely thrilled by this. That falcons offense went down a notch.

I don’t think tanny is great either. He has a very good year but is he one of those guys that can lead you to a super bowl? I say no.
True, but I’d give Tannehill the BOTD over their defense. At least he’s accurate & makes fairly decent decisions, plus Henry runs the show anyway. The defense will be their undoing.

He just got a WR who can erase a lot of QB errors. I'm not a Tannehill guy, but he's got the league's best RB, arguably the league's best WR, and is going to be playing in a division with the Jags and Texans.

Let's see what his contract renegotiation looks like before we call this a cheap contract, because TEN can't afford to keep him without him agreeing to restructure which means he has the leverage to demand a new contract. Let's also see if he can stay on the field. While a healthy JJ can help any team, I doubt the Pats think WR is a position of need after signing two new FA WRs.

This guy..

Yeah, about the only way this would have worked out better for the Bucs is if the Falcons had traded Jones to them while agreeing to pay most of his salary (and that was obviously never going to happen).

1. Warren Sharp is a troll. (a pretty smart one)
2. If the titans REALLY wanted Julio they would've traded a 1st for him.

Some commentary on the TEN angle, from before the trade happened:

Despite the Titans emerging as the favorite to land Jones, one former NFL quarterback says the acquisition of the All-Pro playmaker would be a head-scratcher for the AFC South franchise.

"I think they’re a better team if he’s on it, but to be honest, nothing would surprise me,” ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck said Wednesday on Get up. “Corey Davis, who they drafted, they didn’t pick up his fifth-year option and he’s a free agent. He signs a three-year deal with the Jets. If you’re the Titans, why would you pay three years, $37 million which is what’s left on Julio’s contract for a 32 or 33-year-old wide receiver?

"To me, he makes the Titans better, but the Titans giving up what Atlanta wants to get for him when they could’ve just kept Corey Davis … that to me feels like a ship without a rudder if they go that direction.”

Going to be interesting to see what the Falcons received....wish we would have gotten him.

We didn't give up a 2nd to move up eight spots, we gave up two 4ths and swapped seconds.

The draft is all about getting young players cheap and controlling them for the next 4-5 years.

Not very realistic to think ATL would accept the same offer from us due to the PR angle (28-3 etc).

So many false equivalences being thrown around...

If they really wanted Jones, they would have offered more than 30 other teams, which they did.

Green Bay once again is allergic to adding help for their star QB. While both Farve and Rodgers became choke artists, their front office didn’t do them anybody favors by letting the rosters erode.

Actually the best case for the Bucs was that Rodgers and Julio colluded to be both traded to Denver.

Look at the contracts given to Bakhtiari and Adams, in addition to huge contract for Rodgers. The Packers have an excellent roster considering how much cap space is tied up with those superstars who directly enhance his production. He’s a whiny *****.

Is Rodgers going to take a pay cut? Adams is a free agent after this season and he will likely be looking to get paid 20 million per year.
