McD got fired in Denver because the Living Bronco Logo got into Pat Bowlen's ear at a very opportune time. Had Bowlen stuck out the rough year, the Broncos would be close to the same position they are now with about half the payroll. They might not have went to the Super Bowl but they'd still be a very formidable team.

The Broncos after the initial hot start were horrible,and he deserved to be fired . There is absolutely no evidence to support your contention, and if anything he proved the job was too much for him.

What gives the people in Florida any confidence that Josh McDaniels could recruit college players to pick Florida over Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, Miami, Florida State, etc, etc, etc?

It's not hard to recruit to Florida. At all. Spurrier hated recruiting, and he had to beat off four and five-star recruits with a stick.

Also, were I McDaniels, my recruiting pitch would be something like... "I coached Tom Brady and Randy Moss to record-breaking seasons. I was the offensive coordinator of the 2nd-best NFL offense of all-time, and if Saban/Miles/Spurrier/Malzahn/Golden/Fisher/etc. are really, really nice to me, I'll let them see my three Super Bowl rings."

And, why would Josh want to put up with the NCAA, campus politics, overzealous alumni, parents, and 18-year-old kids who've been coddled in high school?

Chance to rehab his image in the eyes of NFL GMs and owners while probably tripling his salary by accepting one of the five-best jobs in all of College Football?
