If Jimmy was that good he wouldn't have been traded
Depends on what you mean by "that good", I guess.

Someone mentioned Carlos Dunlap in the trade thread. Perfect because of the money he's making this year and the following year.
Tim Tebow.
T.Y. Hilton will be a Patriot before tomorrows deadline.

So if I understand this right, the Pat's originally had Hoyer included in the trade and then they rembered that Homer would count against the comp pick formula and would cancel out the 4th red pick that they are going to get for Bennett
Huh?This is the NFL superplan,
trade away any sense of future QB twice, tick
take a 5th round rated saftey in the 2nd
sign Kap, to piss of the Patriots fans so they dont go to games.
Team crisis
finish 6-11
Aaaarrrgghhh!
Absolutely fuming, would rather let him go in off season for nothing
Krapernick would suck in any system that played in the nflKap would suck in this system. That's why he wouldn't end up here despite your political bs ranting that no one gives a **** about.
We got back hoyer.Really don't get the trade. Pats sock puppets (Shefter and Rappaport) claim it will take a "kings ransom" around draft time and now Crapsheet comes out and says the Browns really didn't offer a 1st only a second. I don't know what to believe other than this was terrible timing. We drafted him in the second and developed him for 3.5 years only to trade him to break even? I'd get it if we got back a player that they thought could help us make a run this year.
Yeah, maybe.
Luckily we're a long way off from actual franchise tag talk. For this thread's sake, the point is that whatever franchise tag decision is made this offseason, we don't have to consider giving it to JG.
I don’t think it’s rught. Can somebody explain this a little more? Why would trading one player for another count against the comp pick formula?
Could be used on Butler to hold for contract talks....at ~$14m if they intend to sign that’s a reasonable figure for a partial guarantee. Not saying they’d pay $14 aav, but could see them giving $20m+ in guarantees on something around $10-11m aav for 4 yearsAccording to rotoworld the Patriots' free agents this summer are:
Danny Amendola
Johnson Bademosi
Brandon Bolden
Rex Burkhead
Malcolm Butler
Nate Ebner
Cameron Fleming
Marquis Flowers
Brandon King
Dion Lewis
Cassius Marsh
Trevor Reilly
Matthew Slater
Nate Solder
LaAdrian Waddle
I can't see the franchise being used on any of those guys.
