His Mom will be going with him because he doesn't like to travel alone. Why not? You should be somewhere in your mid-fifties by then and have your own car.
I won’t deny that Darnold looked very good (unlike roughly 31 franchises for the last 18 years who are blind, jealous haters.). I can see why Jets fans were optimistic in watching him during the preseason. He reminds me a lot of Andrew Luck, though I like that Darnold moves in the pocket to find an open receiver rather than tucking and running, which is a classic rookie mistake.
That said, it’s one game. I thought a lot of his passes were just very well designed plays where the first option was a open by a wide margin. Of course, a lot of QBs have that same advantage but can’t buy the time to wait until the play develops. I do think Darnold’s big question mark is his accuracy (quite a few passes were not on target despite being caught, including the long touchdown pass that was under thrown) and his penchant to make costly mistakes.
In all honesty, though, if I were the Jets I’d be pleased with this raw product. They took a big gamble in moving up to get him and landed him; the Giants are truly stupid for keeping Eli as their starter when it’s onvious his lack of pocket mobility is the biggest reason for “offensive line failures” and Eli is just toast.
I’ll the Jets win a Super Bowl with Darnold? It’s too soon to say. That’s what you’d say with any other franchise. With the Jets, absolutely not.
Don't you know? When the Patriots aren't involved, this sort of thing is, to quote John Clayton, "Just Football."
Pretty sure he'll still travel in the back of Mom's minivan, just like now.Yeah, or he could take the bus like he does now. His Mom will be going with him because he doesn't like to travel alone.
Mom'll be kinda old for the drive...likely 90-100 yrs old. Though he could have his older brother, also known as Dad, drive to Canton.Pretty sure he'll still travel in the back of Mom's minivan, just like now.

Just think, 40 years from now, she probably never saw a Jete Super Bowl in her lifetime.
That's what happens when you have nothing to cheer for in fifty years.Jete fan celebration Monday night rivaled that of 50 years ago, according to historians.
"Boy O boy!!! Gate D will be rockin' them tata's THIS weekend!!! Yahoo!! September Super Bowl here they come!!! OG OG OG J-E-T-E!!!"
Hey, Charlie Brown...uh...awww, forget it...
A good point to note about Darnold is that he moves well in the pocket. It’s amazing how offensive lines that were assumed to be horrible (and receivers too) are suddenly adequate. This is why Brady is head and shoulders above a lot of players who have a “rocket arm” and can “read a defense.” You can’t quantify pocket movement as people merely focus on QB rushing stats to evaluate mobility and sacks/pressures to evaluate protection. But look at the difference between Bledsoe/Brady and the success that Darnold has in game 1 (which I hope won’t continue.). Ironically one of the most important aspects of the QB position can’t really be measured objectively, though Brady has been praised for years for his pocket presence.
This is why Russell Wilson is incredibly overrated, because he doesn’t know how to move in the pocket and buy time, but instead runs backwards and then scrambles toward the sideline. All the blame goes to the offensive line and he is praised for his “mobility” but it’s the wrong kind of mobility. When you have a QB rating of 100 and your team has never had an above average offense, like Wilson, that should be a strong clue that QB stats fall short of assessing QB play.
Eli Manning is another who, because he can’t move, makes everyone else look worse, and the line takes the blame unfairly. Giants would have solved their quarterback AND protection problems with Darnold.
Not saying Darnold is definitely going to be good but just making a point about pocket footwork.
Um, Ice... this is the Jets Suck thread. Tuney is gonna yell at you.
DarnIt was just blindly moving around and got lucky.
That's an unnecessary post right there. Not clever, funny, cute or original. Just a mildly irritating reminder of your fruitless presence. Like how your mom feels when you show up for breakfast.Oh, gate D...
