Darnold is certainly capable of making every throw in the book. That said, I noticed something from him last night that I also noticed in his time at USC - he stares down his receivers. Luckily for the Jets, the Lions either couldn't or didn't make him pay for it last night. But he's going to be running into some much better defenses in the coming weeks and things could get ugly if he continues to do that. His footwork, especially when being pressured, was also an issue at USC. Again, the Lions decided to borrow our defensive game plan instead of choosing to try to overload the weak side and pressure Darnold for whatever reason. I don't think that'll happen in the coming weeks and it will be interesting to see if his footwork in the pocket reverts back to the way it was at USC.

Look guys, we should just admit it. The Jets are now the better team, probably champion quality now, and will definitely be after this new rookie gets some games under his belt. The Pats time of complete and utter dominance of the Jets and the division is over. It was fun while we had it.

Let's allow the Jets' fans the optimism and certainty they deserve, now that they are the winning team and franchise of excellence. Let's not deny them the lofty perch. It's over for us. Congrats, Jets' fans.
