Player Signing Jeff Demps and a 7th round pick traded to Bucs for RB LeGarrette Blount

Don't get the negativity here about this trade. I like this a lot. Big strong back who has some wiggle and can catch passes out of the backfield. At least Blount will play for the Pats, Demos probably won't even play that much for the Bucs.

Blount's hands are atrocious and his pass blocking is worse. If he's on the field in a pass situation, it's a win for the defense.

This cats an angry man like Corey Dillion. Runs like he hates everybody. Love it. Think Solder and Mankins will like blocking for this dude. I do.

maybe he's lost a step, but from that 2010 highlight reel, he is much quicker than a thought.

He's gone from 5.0 to 4.2 to 3.7. How much is him and how much is something else is what BB will have to figure out, but that's a big dropoff.

I like the trade. His contract is not guaranteed. If he makes the team and gets playing time, I agree with what's been said above that he could be perfect for killing clock in the 4th quarter.

As long has he does not fumble the ball....

championshiiiiiiiip......!

I didn't know he was this guy.

As much as he lost his mind in a scary way eventually, what did Hout expect when he put his hands on him, gave him s*** and walked away laughing?

He should have expected that.

Oh well, this guy's a handful.

I hear what you are saying and don't completely disagree. However, the benefit of the Patriots is the gravitas the Patriot "leaders" carry. The voice of a barking BB carries more weight than Blount has ever seen. Then TFB, Vince, one of our new pickups, others.....there is weight to the Patriots leadership and incredibly professional atmosphere. When you are on a Tampa Bay, the coach, the QB and others don't carry the weight due to a lack of winning history. For the Patriots, IMHO, Blount will quickly see this highly professional, all business, winning matters period! type atmosphere. He will either fit in or get bounced. Chances one malcontent could alter that is pretty small.......

that's a lot of weight

Punched a teammate in Tenn. too. That dude had a helmet on though. It's on Youtube as well.

calling it now: He has 10 TDs before the end of the year.

Dude's a load and a half if his head is on straight. If not, he's out on the street. Don't see much risk on this one.

That sucks.

I can't believe that Coach Bill traded with the Bucs for an HalfBack, and it wasn't Michael Smith.

well, he rushed for over 1000 yards under Coach Morris. If BB can get him focused he will be a nice short yardage back. I think it is an excellent move

Dude, thats like saying Kevin Faulk sucked because he didnt pound out 1,000 yards. Blount will not be in there except for pounding the ball situations

When I first read that the Patriots had traded Demps & a 7th for Blount I thought it was peculiar. After some thinking, the Patriots added to their backfield with a player of some quality and probably of greater value than the 7th round pick and a now non-existent Track & Field sprinter. Blount also adds another dynamic to the Patriots rushing attack to compliment Ridley, Vereen and Bolden.

As long as he does not throw any punches at any Patriot......

If he throws a punch at Felger, I will create a petition to induct him in the Pats HOF.
