Generally the Steelers getting butthurt over Harrison signing in NE is quite amusing.I like how the guy who wore a "Free Hernandez" hat is getting all self-righteous.
I will. Cause that 1 play is literally 1 more play than Chickillo, or Moats, or Fort, or Dupree would make. See great players make plays (see Superbowl interception return) when needed. This year he made 1 play, and it was a very big play at a crucial time. How many big plays, in a larger sample size have the guys mentioned above made???
NOBODY has ever played OLB for the Steelers as poorly as Dupree did in that game (he has been serviceable since). He was horrific and to say Harrison was as bad is disingenuous.
What horseshit.
If Harrison makes ONE PLAY, like he did in the KC game early in the season and that ONE PLAY ends the Steelers season, you're gonna try and say Harrison's release wasn't necessarily a bad move and Tomlin didn't screw the pooch?
Get real.
If Steelers are in Foxboro, down 3 points, at Pats 5 yards line, 1st down, 30 seconds remaining, and Harrison strip-sacks Ben, Steelers lose, I most certainly WILL be saying, correctly, that Steelers did not make the Super Bowl because Tomlin released Harrison. Call it recency bias, whatever....but it would be true.
Couldn’t gave been worse than Jackson turned out to be.Well, didn’t blame the effort for that one in terms of bribing him in.
It was either him or a 270 Fullback hybrid named Joey Iosefa.
So in his snaps last year did he still look effective?
And was he a victim of fresh talent or a casualty to age this season, to explain the dramatic drop off in snaps?
Couldn’t gave been worse than Jackson turned out to be.
He had one good game that I was at. Jacksonville maybe? ( love that I’ve been to enough that it’s hard to keep them straight lol)Who, Iosefa? Yeah, he was probably just a hair better than Jackson. He was definitely not even serviceable, though. I forgot how bad things got at RB in 2015.
He was a 34 olb who rushes only and doesn’t cover like Willie was here. You can use those guys but most teams prefer to have 2 olds who can do both to disguise the rush. The most generally accepted explanation is that in their zone blitz scheme the DE's need to be able to drop into coverage a lot. That's something he can no longer do effectively, hence his drop in snaps.
Still seems to be able to set the edge and still has some good pass rush moves, although a long way from his peak given he is slower than he used to be.
Nothing to disagree here, Harrison is 39 and wasn't good enough to start with the steelers. Expectations should be limited at best.
Have they seen the Hitler / Mike Tomlin video yet?...and Steelerfury is up to 57 pages.
They are going nuts over the Pouncy and Dupree quotes. Especially Dupree who has done nothing according to them.
You remember Iosefa?Couldn’t gave been worse than Jackson turned out to be.
