Jalen Ramsey

I don't think anyone is saying that Jalen Ramsey wouldn't improve our secondary. Of course he would. Unfortunately the cap ISN'T crap. To often fans put possible acquisition into a vacuum and forget the most important ccap maxim. "for every dollar you give one player, there is one less dollar for everyone else......eventually." Sure it is easy to push back cap consequences for up to 3 years, but eventually they come due and have consequences.

Unfortunately Ramsey comes with an elite CB salary, while looking like he is no longer playing to that level, while at the same time just a year away from reaching an age where NO CB plays at an elite level anymore. VALUE is the issue teams have to face with the cap. You cannot pay elite money to players who are "just" good.

Who are we NOT going to be able to bring in or resign because we are going to pay top 5 CB money to a guy who no longer is playing at that level. Good is not elite.

I think the BEST method to improve the big hole we currently have at CB is through the draft. This is really a great year to pick up a starting CB in the draft. There are at least 5 who could go in the first round and all are 6' or taller as well as a few more who are 2nd day worthy. This is a rare year where it looks like the CB talent might be better than the WR talent at the top.

I think this might be a better year to fill the OT hole with a "good" FA making "good" money and spend that first round pick on a guy who may become elite and you control for 5 years.
Your absolutely right,

That post was in response to a back and fourth with poster who was posting nonsense. But yes absolutely your right on all points you made mention of.

I've know once again tempered my expectations lol

I'm assuming the team will be looking at 2nd tier WRs as well as the draft. I feel do much more confident knowing that groh Is involved along with BB and that it's a collaborative process.

Yes I expect the team to draft some O linemen as well as some Defensive in the 3rd and 4th rounds... as you stated day 2 picks the team would probably go after some CBs.. I still don't know what they will do at #14 if they even stay there.

I feel like the team wants some established WR help so the rookies they draft can be brung along slowly.. Murphy bunting as CB free agent is who I have am interest in now...

All I can say is myself and most informed and conscious posters on here know Ramsey can only help us.

Whenever you find time youtube, Google or whatever you choose as a search engine can help you become informed. If you have 20/20 vision you should see we couldn't contain top WRs.. petersons best days are behind him.. he was part of that terrible Minnesota secondary your advocating for.. I don't even know why I'm even trying to convince non believers like yourself.. lastly go look at the scheme in JAX where Ramsey made his name and go look at the LA rams scheme you foolishly deny. I've stated the facts, I've backed up my statement your just doing nothing but senseless talking...

You haven't stated facts. You've stated OPINION and senseless talking. You made a BS claim that the Scheme doesn't fit Ramsey but not supported it with anything remotely close to something that could be considered FACT. If you're so smart, why don't you explain what the differences in the two schemes are.

Having watched several games that Ramsey has played in, he doesn't hold up well against guys like Chase, Diggs, or Adams. Diggs owns him the same way Diggs owned JC Jackson. And Adams is 11/16 for 175 yards against Ramsey. Ramsey hasn't done well in "Big Games" such as the Play-offs against GB or the SB against Cincy.

If you actually paid attention to what I said (which you clearly didn't) I was suggesting Peterson as a short-term solution. Before saying a team's secondary was "terrible" you should probably do a better job on your research. Peterson allowed 53 receptions on 89 targets (59%) with an opposing QB rating of 79.2. He also had 5 ints and 15 PDs. Very similar production to Ramsey. Even with the 5 TDs allowed. The same number as Ramsey.

Says the guy ACTUALLY posting Nonsense and claiming it to be factual despite it being his unfounded opinion.

Pass on him. Draft Joey Porter 2nd.

Get an established WR as #1, as we all know BillB cannot select a #1 WR (since Branch) if his job was on the line...

Tee Higgins (young kid) is worth trading for and a big contract. Take a look at what Diggs has done for the Bills...

Not convinced on Hopkins as he is getting old.

BillB wasted $$$ on Jonnu Smith and Agolhor.
I don't think Porter will last through the first 20 picks (if I read your post correctly). If he gets past the Pats, Steelers will grab him.

While Jr is saying all the right things, I have no doubt in my mind that if the Pats drafted him, they'd be looking at having to Franchise him twice to keep him here for 7 years. (4yrs + 5th yr option+2 franchise). There is no telling how he'd take to the mandatory extra years. Not to mention that his father HATES the Pats and BB with a passion. I have no doubt he'd make things awkward by running his mouth.

Porter did not help himself at the combine. I don’t know how far he will fall but his arrow is pointing down at the moment. I’ve heard that he is an even-keeled, soft spoken kid but his dad is still an a-hole. The NFL Network reporter was trying to interview him before his son’s second run and he wouldn’t stop texting and looking at his phone. You could tell that she was irritated by that.

IF that's a Fact I am sure BB will pass on that problem child in the First Round.

I can see that. Bill wants to coach guys he wants to coach, and Sr. might make life difficult for everyone involved. I can envision a scenario where Porter Sr. becomes a de facto 54th man in the locker room, influencing his son and not minding his business.

Too bad Sr. will never ever ever ever EVER be at the Pats level. Never ever ever.

From 2008:

"
“I don’t like them,” Porter said. “I ain’t never really too much cared for them. It is what it is.”

Take last year’s blowout. Porter took issue, strangely, with the Patriots running dives to Laurence Maroney [stats] with just under four minutes to go. Since they couldn’t kill the clock without getting a first down, the Pats handed off in an attempt to get one before punting with 18 seconds left.

“They could’ve kneed the ball,” he said. “We couldn’t win the game. We had no timeouts. They were up by 21 and still running running plays. So I really don’t care how they feel or what they’re getting ready for. Doesn’t really matter to me.”"

Never ever ever get on our level:

It's not even worth my time to respond you are talking our your *******..
Nope. That would be you...I'm the one using actual facts. Something you can't be bothered with.

Don't know where you're hearing this. Haven't been following it much, but Morse just did an article here saying exactly the opposite.

Word is Ramsey to Miami. I hope you're all correct who said he's a jag.

Since he's not a Patriots he's a jag but if we had signed him they would be in euphoria

I hope whoever put this on the scoreboard got a raise.

Went for a 3rd. They will have to give him a big money contract, but that's not an expensive trade.
