Well..as of right now on paper this receiving core along with the TE's should be extremely tough to match up against if Lloyd performs like he has with McDaniels. Then you have guys like Ocho(who i think will improve alot),Stallworth who sould be able to stretch the field. We have definately improved.
I'm probably more worried about the RBs and OL as of right now. There are alot more unknowns in those positions.
I definitely agree that we should be in much better shape than last yr, your point is golden in that regard. I still wouldn't mind having one more viable option to cause a bit of improvement at the position, but that may just be wishful thinking. My prediction is that at least one more WR is signed, whether that's either a high round pick (1-3), or a guy like Gaffney (just for example).
I also think that Ocho should be improved enough to be able to contribute with about 30 catches and a couple/few TD's.
I think OL and RB should be just fine to be honest. I am very hopeful that we're about a player or two (maybe one via draft + one via free agency/team cut) of wrapping the whole thing up on offense with vast improvement or at least status quo in all of the areas. You may be surprised at RB, we may even improve there. TE is already an improvement in my opinion. QB is the same, maybe even better with another yr of experience behind the 2 backups.
I wouldn't be too worried about RB. I think Vereen and Ridley will be just as capable as BJGE was last yr, and hopefully more. There may be another couple of fumbles that go along with that, but we should be able to use the guys that we have here and do as well as we need--around 4 ypc/hopefully a bit higher. I wouldn't mind another vet signed, and I would assume that may be the case.
I know there are many who assume that Koppen may not see the field too much, but if Mankins starts the yr on PUP (as I will assume for argument's sake), we'd still have Solder, Connelly, Koppen, Waters, and Vollmer as the starting 5---with Gallery, Cannon, Wendall, and likely McDonald as the other 4 who will offer a great push of depth and competition. There are 2 backup tackles and 2 backup interior lineman right there who are all quite capable of starting at any given time. There's always the thought that they may keep 10, and/or choose a draft pick next weekend too. I think the competition is going to be great on the offensive line, and if there should be a problem someone else is more than capable of stepping up. I think there are many teams who would love to be in our situation.
