Jabar Gaffney on the trade block?

We might sign him if he gets cut, but no way in hell they trade a pick for him. Also, they don't have any late round picks to trade.

Looks like he's tryin to shoot his way out of Dodge. Let's wait for the smoke to settle. Maybe he could be hd for nothing, and a more reasonable salary.

Hoyer for Gaffney + a pick?

Maybe we can get Troy Brown out of retirement as well.

No comment on getting Reche Caldwell.

Did Brown or Caldwell get 947 yards and 5 TDs with Rex Grossman and John Beck throwing to him? Gaffney did. Let's not act like Gaffney is washed up.

The guy is 31 and coming of a career year. He's got a few more good years left in him. Probably rather have him over Branch or Stallworth at this point.

Agree with the last sentence, he'd be an upgrade over Branch and Stallworth, though I'm a huge Branch fan.

I feel put in my place, thanks Rob.

In fact, I was merely referrencing that we should get the old "gang" back together. You know, a reunion of patriot WRs of the past.

Agreed. But at $2.65M for 2012 as a depth WR, I would wait it out and see if he's cut.

Sorry, I just assumed you were just implying we don't need to bring in another broken down WR just because he knows the system.

I think Gaffney has something left to offer. More than many of the old gang they have already brought back. I wouldn't go crazy in a trade offer, but if they can give a 2013 low round pick or swap pick selections in the third or fourth round, I would definitely consider it.

no worries.

Out of the old gang, Gaffney definitely hs the most potential and i think we all agree it has to be a late round pick (which prevents it from beign this years draft so far, but it probably bumps the pick up by a round if we have to delay the compensation with a 2013 pick).

Trade Ochocinco for Gaffney straight up.

We should explore this aggressively but obviously within reason. If he is on the roster he instantly becomes the third best receiver .He can consistently beat single coverage which was something Branch and Ocho were unable to do.Do not even mention Gonzalez and Stallworth.

Those were my thoughts, exactly, too.

We could do better in the draft, if need be, for a receiver.

I'd be all for bringing him back for a cheap price. Gaffney still has gas left in the tank.

LOL obviously that is not going to happen, but it, logically, would be a good move. :rocker:

Why not? Daniel Snyder is in love with big names who have past their prime.
