It's official: Roger Goodell's suspension of Brady failed

I think the Steelers balls measuring 11.8 and 11.4, with the NFL* not investigating further, along the the Giants' cheating being given such a laughable penalty, Goodell may not want to be anywhere near someone who may ask questions about these rulings.
So I guess he'll only go on Mike & Mike where only marshmellow questions are tolerated............

People are whistling dixie if they think Goodell will hand the trophy to Brady if they win. He will hand it to his minion little bobby kraft as shown here in SB49. And to think, his little wheels were spinning at this very moment planning his deflate gate integrity crusade.

But I do still get warm and fuzzy again watching Kurt Warner's walk of shame through the Patriots gauntlet.

I wouldn't underestimate the petty vindictiveness of Goodell and minions to try something at the last minute to try and derail the Pats....it,s not like they have an owner who has their back.....

Right now the Pats best friends are at Fox Sports. They desperately want the Patriots (and the Cowboys) in the Super Bowl for the ratings. People love to watch the Pats - mostly to root against them - but they watch. Fox will be some kind of pissed if the NFL pulls some BS to keep us out.

A Feb. 5 meet-up between the league's two biggest TV draws -- and, depending on how much stock you put in sentiment polling, the two most roundly loathed NFL franchises -- would all but certainly shatter every extant TV ratings record while driving the price of Fox's last-minute scatter inventory up into the nosebleed seats.

A Cowboys-Patriots Super Bowl Would Level Every TV Ratings Record

i dont know if it backfired. You guys really think goodell cares about pats winning the whole thing inspite of this ? He could care less.Other owners might be pissed. He makes millions of dollars to do nothing. He tarnished the image of the greatest QB of all time, took away our draft picks, reaffirmed his power via the courts . I dont think it matters to him what pats do .We might feel this way like he is pissed the pats are doing well but i doubt he gives damn.

Yeah, I don't really think he cares as much as pats fans love to believe. Some love to believe he's raging at his TV every time brady throws a TD pass lol. I think he has already done what he wanted to do.

I don't know. Kraft knows he alienated a lot of fans by not going to bat for Brady/the franchise at the most important time. While he will always be on the hook for that, I really think he is remorseful. I would hope he realizes that and defers the honor of receiving the trophy to the man most affected by all of Goodell's bulshit.

But we gotta win it first.

It effectively started today:

N.E., KC and OAK should have all had the same 4:25 PM game start, to insure that those three teams vying for the top seed, all had the same real-time information.

Whoa there Nelly. We played the game at the time originally scheduled. I'm actually glad they left it at 1:00 p.m. It made the Pats sit firmly in the driver's seat and pay attention to the road ahead. We showcased yet again that everybody else has a lot to worry about to get to and win the SB, as we beat another playoff team who was trying to win by 3 TDs. Easy schedule my *** (said Brady and BB under their breath).

Kraft walked into the stadium 2015 opening night carrying the SB 49 trophy, after having Patriots legends walk in with the prior 3 trophies and after already rolling over to the other 31. I'll believe Kraft having the balls to not grab the Lombardi during the presentation, and forcing Goodell to give it to Brady directly when I see it.

UH, yes , I believe it matters a great deal to him. Just re-visit the absolute glee and subsequent bombastic celebration he engaged post appeal decision. You list a number of "positives" he pulled off. Why not take a look at the negatives? You DO realize he cannot show his face in NE anymore, that he's the pariah of millions of NE residents, that his Maine bunker is a virtual high security facility instead of the vacation retreat it was meant to be? He cares, SVN. Believe me, he cares.
Agreed. He can't continue his ego trip if he has to hand the Pats the trophy. He can't attend the AFCCG if it takes place in Foxborough (or if he does he'll have to keep a low profile to avoid abuse by Pats fans). He cost the NFL $$ both in terms of people who were fed up & avoided purchasing NFL merchandise & watching as many games (like me), and the exorbitant cost to "prove" something he knows never happened. Ultimately he didn't do any real damage to the Pats (particularly if we win the SB), and a lot of people have come around on Brady. He helped show that first round draft picks are really a crap shoot, and don't matter much if you have a good organization that can compensate for losing them. In a perverse way, he has helped the Pats avoid overpaying for unknown players that might be a bust. It's as if we had two first rounders that were busts (like a lot of other teams have had) but we didn't suffer the cap hits because of it, and signed some other good players instead, for less money.

True dat.
He will go to the NFCCG that day to avoid Foxboro and should the Pats make it to Houston, I guarantee that he won't be the one giving the trophy, partly of our fear somebody will speak their mind and give him the Tom Jackson treatment.....if the Pats win..

I agree with you but clearly he went way over the top with his punishment and it makes me wonder why he did that. Looking at the bigger picture was it really just to try and stick it to the Patriots and try to get them out of the playoffs or lower their seeding for a season? Was it just a PR move to make the other owners happy? It certainly had nothing to do with integrity.. the NFL has nothing to do with integrity lol..

That would be funny. Goodell goes to give Kraft the trophy, he holds up a hand and says, "Wait a minute, I think you should give it to my friend here.'

I go with Occam's razor. In this case:

Unfortunately, as much as we all want to see Schiesskopf suffer somehow, whether we're talking about giving him grief when he comes to Gillette or being humbled if obliged to hand the Lombardi to the Pats, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. This prick is beyond shame and will just respond with a shi*-eating grin on his face and an f-you on his mind. I hate the guy as much as anyone here (OK, not as much as Joker but that level of hostility is not achievable by us mere mortals) and I hope I'm wrong here but we have to prepare to be satisfied to let living well be the best revenge for this rotten stumlebum and the clown car he oversees in Manhattan.

Concerning Bob..... as Luke said about Vader in Return of the Jedi, "There is still good in him. I felt it."

But hey, this is real life, so you're probably right.

We have to be satisfied that he'll never have the nerve to set foot in Gillette again, and that he's luxury vacation mansion in Maine is pretty much unusable.

Goody got paid handsomely to do the Oligarchs' bidding. So did Wells. That's all that matters to these people.

When the US/French forces defeated the Brits at Yorktown, Lord Cornwallis was conveniently "indisposed" for the surrender ceremony and sent his 2nd-in-command. The 2nd tried to give the sword to Rochambeau, who refused it and pointed to Washington. Washington in turn refused it and made the Brit give it to HIS 2nd-in-command.
