Is it even possible for this team to get HFA any longer?

Getting a bye week is huge. It gives them two weeks to rest and prepare for one home game in order to get to the AFCCG, where anything can happen.

Anyone telling themselves differently has not been paying attention. To take it one step further, who here thinks this looks like a championship caliber team with road losses to squads like DET, JAX, and TEN? Lol. They can’t even beat the crappy teams on the road, let alone the best the AFC has to offer.

Yet oddly they beat 1st place 6-3 Chicago Bears on the road. And they didn't even really play great in doing so.

imagine going 11-5 and playing the Rams again, in the supe, Brady to finish where he started

That would be great. Silence of the Rams II.

Back at that time I was an AOLe and the Rams fans were the worst opposing fans that I encountered, then or since.

After yesterday’s game nobody here should even be thinking about the number 1 seed. Let’s just concentrate on one game at a time and hope we start playing better.

That game was more the exception than the rule. It was so bad that I think there was something else involved. Illness maybe?

Hate to say it but have a sneaking suspicion our worst nightmare is staring to play out: Steelers winning the AFC if not the whole thing. I’ve been posting for two years now that Le’Veon Bell makes the offense much worse (not because he isn’t good, but because of the way they overuse him to the detriment of a powerful passing offense.). I knew his holdout would ultimately make the Steelers a better team.

They’re also building some kind of bullsh1t identity around it, as if they aren’t all turds there.

Posted several times the Steelers average 7 less ppg with Bell playing. They’ve been forced into the modern passing game and are now scary.
I don't think they get passed KC if it's in KC. I agree with Le'Veon Bell. He needs a lot of touches to be effective. Conner is better for them right now. The matchup with the Steelers will tell us a lot where the Pats rank on the totem poll in the AFC.

Makes no sense.

Pats gave up 236 points and Rams have given up 231. No stats just simple facts. Yep, Seahawks had a chance to win. They are pretty good and there is lots of scoring this season across the league.
Oh the Pats D are definitely below average as well and sometimes they play like they want to fall into the category as one of the worst. And I didn't think they were very good last year given their ranking in points per game category.

In a word we don't know.

First thing to wish for is to win the division. Whatever happens after that happens.

The odds of the Pats NOT WINNING the division are slim. Basically, the Pats win the division at 9-7 as long as they beat MIA and MIA loses one other game.

If the Pats (7-3, 2-0) beat the Jets (3-7, 0-3) in wk-12, the Jets are eliminated from the division race, regardless what else happens.
--- [Pats 8-3, 3-0 ... Jets 3-8, 0-4]

If the Pats get to 8-3, 3-0 by beating the Jets - and then beat the Bills (3-7, 1-1) for a second time in wk-16 - the Bills are eliminated from the division race, regardless what else happens.
--- [Pats: 9 wins ... Bills max = 8 wins]

If the Pats win at least 2 more games (including beating the 'Fins), and the 'Fins lose at least two more games (including losing to the Pats), and the Bills/Jets each lose one more game (to anyone), the Pats win the division.

The 'Fins play @IND (WK-12), Pats (WK-14) and @MIN (WK-15).
The Bills play JAX (WK-12), @Mia (WK-13), DET (WK-15), @Pats (WK-16).
The Jets play Pats (WK-12), @TEN (WK-13), HOU (WK-15), GBY (WK-16).

It’s amazing how KC (offensively, at least) has been able to stay relatively healthy the last 2 seasons. Their SPP; Hill, Kelce & Hunt have been extremely fortunate.

Of course it’s possible, there are still 6 games left to be played.. but we definitely need help, starting with the Rams on Monday

The 1st round bye is going to be critical for this team given all the injuries and some division games at the end of the season that can get pretty saucy

KC in January would not be a fun time, but the bye is more important than where the AFCCG is played

Honestly, I’m not sold on KC and NE being the AFCCG. I could see Pittsburgh knocking KC off in the divisional. The final 4 in the AFC will be KC, NE, Pitt and Houston. I think SD will be exposed as they have not beaten a good team yet during their winning streak. They are piling up wins against low level teams.

You have no control over who you play we play in the AFC-Least. Chargers are a decent Team and if Joey Bosa can come back somewhat healthy they will have a solid Defense that doesn't have to Blitz to get there.

Shouldn’t be assumed that KC won’t go 1 and done in the playoffs either, then turning the AFCC to whatever team is the highest seeded remaining. A team like the Chargers atleast has the familiarity factor on their side. Then a team like Texans, who has played well lately, have the defensive pieces to slow down KC and maybe pull off an upset.

It’s never as clear cut as it looks, especially at this point of the season. There’s a lot of football left, and there will be injuries, surprises, etc that will shake things up.

All we can ask for as Pats fans is that they continue to improve, remain healthy, and dodge any more setbacks.
