Interesting offseason cuts around the league thread

Winston would be a guy who's well worth bringing in for a look. He declined a bit last season, but that entire team pretty much did that. If Vollmer's gone, I'd put Winston in the mix, and he can be contacted right away and wouldn't count in terms of compensation picks.

I could see the Daboll connection being useful when it comes to Winston. I'm a bigger fan of Cannon than most, but Winston at the right price would be great.

Winston has started 16 games in each of the last six seasons.

I can't say I know much about him, but that durability is a nice feature. Also, it is probably fair to assume he has been at least good enough to fend off any challengers for his job pretty much since being drafted in 2006.

Just a followup on Winston: I've seen a couple of tweets where injury is either being implied or stated, so that would be something that would have to get looked at.

Not quite a cut but a potential one on the horizon:

Jason La Canfora ?@JasonLaCanfora
Broncos like pass rusher Elvis Dumervil, but not at $12M/year. They are seeking a lower deal, and situation could end up with his release...

He will restructure

My take is Nnamdi is a similar player as Talib. A great man to man/press corner that is bad in zone. Nnamdi however offers better durability, character, and price.

Nnamdi #1 CB
Reed Safety

**** if this was only 5 years ago we'd be awesome

So I'm gearing the Broncos could cut Dumervil if he doesn't take a pay cut.

If this happens, any interest in going after him??

Something about a 30 year old 5'11 260lb DE doesn't really excite me for some reason despite the fact he is coming off a really go year..

Elvis Dumervil is not good. Don't let the stats fool you. He gets engulfed every play in the run game. Broncos fans can't wait to see him go.

He's a situational pass rusher playing full time snaps who wants to get paid like a full time player but who the Broncos want to pay like the one-dimensional guy he is. I'd have no interest at the price he'll want.

Big fan of Eric Winston, injury or not, bring him in.

Not sure why everyone wants an OT who really struggles in pass protection.

Not sure why everyone wants an OT who really struggles in pass protection.

That's because:

A. He doesn't.

B. He's a model of consistency, efficiency and health.

C. His run blocking is fantastic.

D. The future of our current RT, who when healthy is a better player, is up in the air.

E. It allows us to rotate if we can keep Der Kaiser.

F. Imagine how good he could be with some coaching from the best O-line coach in the league.

Hartline signs for 5 years 30.75 million, the WR market continues to shrink.

Given the relative dearth of mid-level WR talent available in FA, and the projected costs associated with adding such talent, does Lloyd become a chip in acquiring a draft choice? I doubt it, but maybe not so far fetched that he couldn't yield at least a late rounder. Just a thought, but it might be wOrth more to the team to dump him prior to paying a pretty sizable bonus this month.
