Incognito suspended indefinitely by Dolphins

I'm a MEH on this drama ... don't give a rats azz about Outcognito

So says Riley Cooper

"So says" a lot of people. White bread america is not the only american culture. This stuff goes the other way, too, regarding those who are thought of as not being black enough. If you can't remember any of those, perhaps a quick peek back at Rob Parker's comments regarding RGIII will remind you.

I think this is worse than the Riley Cooper situation.

And anyone standing up for Incognito or trying to justify his actions is plain ignorant.

I can't tolerate your abusive comment. Theres no need for calling people ignorant in our modern culture. I'm quitting this board and suing.

I'm trying to figure it out also.

So, an obvious white RI, even though he calls blacks the N-word, isn't a bigot and a racist because he's been accepted as black.

Apparently because it's OK for blacks to call each other the n-word. So since Incognito is "culturally/socially black," the media-driven outrage is for naught. It makes these players all look like childish idiots.

Precisely. There's the RGIII thing and then there's the Tiger Woods thing too.

Note that in that voicemail, Incognito, did NOT call Martin a "n****".

He called him a "HALF-n****.

There is extreme racism against people of mixed parentage from BOTH whites and blacks. Could possibly be another (stupid) reason why Martin may have been ostracized by both the white and black players on the Dolphins.

Hey, I just noticed your join date is December 2012, rookie!

A few of us are going out to dinner - - we'll take our $15,000 check in the morning.

I think it's a mistake to project adult attitudes and perspectives (even racist ones) onto what these players are doing. This is the most immature crap I've ever heard of. It's "Romper Room" meets "Lord of the Flies" in urban Jersey via Harlem. It can't be taken seriously. It's a joke -- Incognito, Martin, the whole stupid kiddie circus and their childish locker room "culture."

It's beyond silly ... all the way around.

I can see it now ... the next Riley Cooper type incident may well involve an explanation that the targeted racist and bigot believed it was fine to use the N-word because his black friends have accepted him as one of them.

Remember that old saying many parents tell their kids?

"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye".

There, it is: "It's all fun and games, until someone has to check himself into a psych ward."

Because these players are famous performers in adult bodies, we've been fooled into taking their childish antics seriously. They're not mature people and we need to remember that whenever these nonsensical brouhahas erupt publicly.

The players' immaturity is exacerbated by never having lived in the real world. They've been pampered, enabled and hand-held their whole lives. No wonder these bizarre locker room mini-societies evolve like this.

Seems like a pretty accurate assessment. Also, I'm repeatedly floored by the disdain and distrust these types of morons, black and white alike, have for those who have attained academic excellence. Dopes.

I certainly hope the Patriots are more adult than that Dolphins bunch. Maybe it's just that BB's regime is simply more skilled at keeping a lid on it.

Because I'm an adult capable of my own choices I will refuse to participate.

Kinda what I meant too. I was more focusing on the lack of leadership in the Organisation but that was also a part of my thinking and that's why I compared it to the Hernandez case.

I think an equally good comparison is Julian Edelman's arrest. The Patriots could easily have cut him, but didn't.

The only logical conclusion to come to is "they hate their organization". Yes Tom, you appear to be right.

This thing is like opening up a pomegranate.

OK, seriously - - WTF??????

Sources: Ireland suggested that Martin confront Incognito physically | ProFootballTalk

Per multiple league sources, Dolphins G.M. Jeff Ireland received a call from Martin’s agent, Rick Smith, before Martin left the team on October 28. Smith complained to Ireland about the manner in which Incognito was treating Martin.

Ireland, according to the sources, suggested to Smith that Martin physically confront Incognito. Ireland specifically mentioned that Martin should “punch” Incognito....."

I don't understand how anything that has come out mitigate the way martin was treated or makes him anything more than a victim in this entire affair.

All we discovered is that his treatment was institutional and not just the actions of an isolated individual but something that was sanctioned by the team.

If I was martin, I would sue the **** out of Dolphins. nothing left to lose
