Incognito suspended indefinitely by Dolphins

Well the odds certainly flipped last night on THIS question:

Which Florida NFL coach loses his job first? Schiano or Bradley or Philbin?

Maybe Martin has mixed race parents, and that bothers Incognito.
Maybe Martin has a degree from Stanford and that bothers Incognito.
Maybe Martin is gay and that bothers Incognito.

Martin also replaced Jake Long - reported to have been RI's best friend on the team

If this report is true, Philbin and his coaches are fools. Hitching one's wagon to a racist, abusive moron like Richie the Village Idiot results in just
what they deserve.

I knew this would come out. The Dolpfool coaches were involved and knew exactly what was going on. Honestly, I personally have not heard anything that makes me think that Incognito crossed the line. What the hell do people think NFL say to each other. Your mom makes nice meatloaf?

There are probably 100's of other NFL players that faced the same thing and left because they could not take the heat. There are probably another 100 that stood up and threw a punch and that is exactly what the coaches were hoping for.

I guarantee you that Incarnacion gets another job, while Martin does not. Martin will be labeled a pssy and that is they end for him.

Is Johnathan Martin any good? Is he an actual loss from purely a football perspective?

Why is it even relevant?

Regardless of how good you are, you should have the right to go about your business and career without being harassed and bullied.

I'm fed up of the people calling him out as a ***** and those who say he isn't tough enough. Everyone is different. Should he have come out and said something and done things through proper channels? It's easier said than done.

Not only that, but if some of these rumours about coaches knowing about this and even CONDONING it, it could get very messy for the Dolphins. Sounds like Martin was given no other option but to flee.

Interesting definition. There is a huge media spotlight on this and Incog******** is indefinitely suspended. Philbin may lose his job. The actions Martin took which led to this have been FAR more devastating to the perpetrators than a simple punch in the face. And yet he's being called a wimp?

The romanticizing of the NFL into some quasi-military fantasyland of free flowing testosterone and gladiator-like behavior, full of mystique and mythology, perpetually narrated 24-7 by John Facenda is laughable

the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry - essentially a fortune 500 company

players are employees.....playing football is their job

nothing that Incognito did is acceptable; nothing Martin did was unacceptable

to try and frame one's behavior as normalcy and the other as "weak" or "soft" simply shows a disconnect with reality, albeit a normal one for fans and participants alike

the NFL is a business. Period. To cast it in any other light is naive and laughable.

I never said anything like that. Doesn't matter weather it's Tom Brady or Brian Scalabrine nobody should be harassed. I'm just curious to know if this is a double whammy for mimai having the mess and losing a quality player on their line. Their o-line was bad enough to begin with.

Fair play!

He struggled. He took over at LT this year, didn't fare too well and they brough in Bryant McKinnie to take over and then moved Martin over to the right side.

Best way to put it is he's young and still growing. You see flashes, but they aren't consistent enough.

As you mentioned though their line has issues; losing any of their depth there will hurt.

And now losing Incognito as well, who is at least a decent player. Going to be a long season for Ryan Tannehill. Pats could use some help on the line if fins let Martin go. I'm sure we'd be more than happy to take him.

What??????

Not....sure....if....serious.....

Is Incarnacion a shortstop?

Exactly. If the Pats threw Marcus Cannon in at LT last year, he would have struggled also.

However, it wouldn't have allowed the Pats coaches to get Logan Mankins and his dad to stalk him.

If a player stinks, cut him.

Martin is a 23 year old 2nd round pick OT - they don't grow on trees

if he wants to play, he'll play......imagine him in a locker room based on respect, with a winning-based culture? he'd be like a kid in a candy store....

RI is a cancer.....he's been booted off every team since high school; he's on the wrong side of 30 and is a current PR nightmare

he might get a Haynesworth type deal somewhere.....and the over/under on him blowing will be 6 games.....and i wouldn't be surprised if no one touches him

Philbin is done.....several assistants are one.....i'm betting several other members of the "leadership council" will face disciplinary measures

You're right. In the end, Tannehill is about to be the REAL abuse victim of all this. Starting the very next game.

....and to your other point - -sure, I'd kick the tires regarding Martin. We could use some depth at RT and he may finally have a chip on his shoulder. If he doesn't by now, then professional football may not be his bag.

This is not going to end well for Incognito nor the Dolphins organization and its coaches.

Wonder if RI has ever played on a team with a winning record in the NFL?

In a 9 year NFL - - nope. Never.

He came to the St Louis Rams in 2005. The previous 5 years they were 51-29. His 5 years they were 20-60.

The 3 full years with the Dolphins, they were 20-28.

There's not a lot of proof that this kind of guy is good for a lockerroom or team performance. In fact, as it turns out, he is a cancer football-wise also.

I agree with this. As I said yesterday, can you imagine what crazy Steve Smith said to his teammate before he broke the guy's jaw? This is what goes on in the NFL. When the black guys on the team are backing RI that should tell you something.

If reports are accurate, the plot should thicken even more in the coming days/weeks. If they're accurate, Philbin and Ireland will be gone in the offseason and the Dolphins will once again be starting from scratch. The public should still be taking a wait and see approach with this but, unfortunately, the public doesn't have the sharpest critical thinking skills.

yeah, it tells me the Miami Dolphin locker room was entirely ****ed up

Martin was soft because the went to Stanford......It's ok to extort money out of rookies to finance trips to Vegas......Incognito is a "good guy"

sounds like a locker room that has it's **** together for sure! No wonder they are racking up Lombardi's left and right!

Nobody in here is claiming that Incognito is a good guy or that the Dolphins locker room was/is a stable one. What people are saying is that the full story has yet to be put out yet and the guy may not be the devil that everyone else is making him out to be (or he may be... there's no way to know that without having most, if not all, of the details available). It's now being reported that the coaching staff was in on this which, if true, only means that more and more layers are going to begin coming out. Again, what the hell is wrong with taking a wait and see approach here?
