They're not firing BB mid-season. That's a big time show of disrespect.

I think BB has lost the team and it's time for him to go...however, the six championships buy him the rest of this season (maybe the next. That's up to Kraft) and a chance to exit respectfully.
Bill would not have that sentimentality for any player he's ever coached. It's business. He doesn't deserve that same courtesy. If you suck at any job for 4 years, nobody is going to say "well he was a total stud and did amazing things before he turned to total crap and was a problem for us".

That's fine, that doesn't make it an intelligent decision. There's no reason to have Belichick calling the shots at the trade deadline.

Who do the Pats have to trade that will garner a high draft pick in trade? Is there anyone teams are hot to get their hands on like Jerry Juedy in Denver?

Who says you need high picks. Get capital and use that to make trades for young guys who you think will be better or packages to move up in the draft.

Why would we be trading our young players away? Why would we trade Dugger? Barmore? Young players like that

I think Dugger is gone after the season. If you can get more than the compensatory pick he is likely to get, trade him. He is likely going to get big money on the open market.

Judon was a potential trade asset before he was injured. Since he is unlikely in the long term rebuilding plans.

The key is losing?
Losing is pretty much automatic now.

The talent on the team is so bad now that a couple or few years in the cellar is needed for those high draft picks.

Sentimentality is what kills teams, and frankly if we can let a 6x Super Bowl winning QB go we can let Belichick go as well. He had 4 years to prove he could lead the team in the post Brady era, he's objectively failed and year 4 is somehow worse than year 1, 2 or 3. Belichick wasn't sentimental about players, Kraft shouldn't be sentimental about him.
The one thing that might "save" BB is that injuries have been almost farcical at two key positions (OL, CB), but I think that him getting an extra year or two will require him giving up GM duties.

In any case, I don't think it's unreasonable for him to allow BB to say he resigned or the parting is mutual. Hell, for all we know, his contract might be up after this season anyways.

Yes he does. Coaches are different from players. If six Super Bowls doesn't earn you the right to leave gracefully, then I don't know what does.

One could say the team’s talent has gotten better since 2020 but they’ve gone backwards. That’s 100% on the coach.

The offensive talent was already bad in 2019 but it was partially masked by Brady. Pats should have just tanked in 2020 and build a solid offense for Mac.

If you give a QB bad talent, it's hard to evaluate them. Thus it's only now in year 3 that we can say with certainty that Mac is a top 15 QB at best, but more likely backup material.

BB has really messed the post Brady era.

If Bill continues to ignore the offense in the draft and free agency. Opting only for jags and guys on the cheap. this is going to be the same result.

The OL is bad, the receivers are average, we have no 3rd down back. Bill has invested nothing in the offense and this what you get

Letting go of meyers for juju because he was "cheaper" just spells it all out. You get what you pay for. And you have DeAndre Hopkins with a 100 yard game for the Titan but we couldn't pay him either because he wasn't a "deal"

People forget how bad 2019 was. Brady looked cooked. Had several games he barely passed for 200 yards. To marshall NewHouse was a turnstile and he had sanu/Ben Watson as his receivers.

The offense hasn't gotten much better. 2021 was only the glimmer of hope. Maybe mcdaniels really is that good as an OC.

Doesn't matter if you tank. Bill is gonna go defense or special teams first 6 rounds.

Kraft will never fire Belichick in season. So the argument is moot.

Typical arrogant Team Bill response right here. You have no ****ing clue if Kraft would fire him during the season. You’re not an insider and are wrong about 99% of the time but still act like your opinion is gold.

The team has been outscored 72-3, have outright stopped trying, Bill is punting on 4th and 3 at Saints 40, the QB is publicly pouting, and the locker room is clearly in upheaval. It’s Week 5.

No worthwhile owner will allow a humiliating **** show like this to continue for a full season.

All the reasons you dummies think Bill is special - coaching advantage, lockstep players, player attitude - is turned upside down here.

Disagree on Dugger. You have a ton of money to spend, letting talent go makes you weaker.

BB has really lost his touch in evaluating and bringing in offensive talent. If he had gotten a top end TE talent to replace Gronk like Hockenson instead of Izzo and a 40 year old Watson, Brady would have looked much better.

BB should have known how important the TE position is for Brady. Brady was at his peak whenever he had Gronk with both the Pats and Bucs.

Sanu then, Juju over Myers now, BB no longer knows a good WR over a not so good WR.

There is NFW that there should EVER be a next year for Bill, or for Judge Joey, or Cant Assford, or Al Groh's kid either. In fact, Bill's GM duties need to be REMOVED from him before the trade deadline so that Eliot Wolf can begin the house-cleaning process.

I really want to know how some of these idiots voted no - this should be yes 100% - get rid of this washed up coach who has done nothing in his career without Brady under center and only won those other 2 rings by way of being a part of Parcells staff- Brady proved he can win without him,Bill has proved hes well overrated when some call him greatest ever - thats laughable

We need to absolutely blow this team up from the coaching staff to dumping a lot of these underacheiver players from this very poor roster ...and if that means the next 3 or 4 years of being doormats then so be it,patience is a virtue and we can also get rid of the remaining bandwagoners if there are any left - if bandwagoners didnt leave before 1pm today, they were on the bus to Miami by 4pm
