Wow large fellow. Just read he was 450 as a walk on. Shedded a hundred to get to playing weight.

The 6″8 OT allowed just 15 sacks in over 3,100 snaps and committed just four penalties, which is seriously impressive with many tackles, even at an elite level, struggling with holding calls. He was a key part of Rutgers’ O-line that finished third in the Big Ten for rushing yards, averaging 175.3 yards on the ground per game.

Worth taking a chance on in the 4th or 5th.
Rutgers. Bill would have snapped him up.

Membou's gotten a big uptick after his combine performance, but he's a RT. We need a LT. The positions are not interchangeable. Notwithstanding Campbell's numbers, look at his performance over the past three years against top SEC defenders, the ones who's make it in the NFL
We need both

A RT is still protecting the QB. I just want the best player who improves the team the most. I really like Campbell, but with his wingspan, he's unlikely to be a LT in the NFL. There have been zero OT's go through the combine in a quarter of a century with a smaller wingspan than Will Campbell. That's too big a bet on an outlier for me.

Now I do think Will Campbell is going to be a good to great left guard and if you want to draft him as that I could easily go along because I'm still a big fan. But if Campbell is a guard, I think the more valuable pick is the RT.

Let us presume that there are perhaps 7 players available who are about equal and who might be draft in the top 10.
========
Should we simply take our choice of the bunch, knowing that we could get about the same quality player a few spots later?

In this situation, it seems right to trade down a bit, even if it is for only one additional pick.

To be clear, if we have 3 players equal when draft, why not trade down two spots and add a pick.
=======
Obviously, if we have someone clearly higher than the rest, then we would pick that player.
Because you need someone to trade up and if we're having trouble finding value at 4, then most other teams will probably find that too. Of course, it only takes one to fall in love with a Mason Graham, for example, and want to trade up for him. In that instance, of course, you probably make the trade.

We have First Rounder Cole Strange as a Guard already... I think we are all set there please tell Will Campbell... Will... Bye.

Get us Cam Robinson In FA and Armand Membou in the Draft... Tackle position upgraded.

Is that the Cole Strange that played two games last season and is out of contract at the end of this?

From what I've heard Membou is just 20 and has all the tools to play LT.

Last year they projected a much older and way less athletic prospect (Wallace, age 24) to move from RT to LT. That was a bad idea. The positions are not interchangeable but Membou is too young and freakishly athletic to discard his ability to learn the other side.

Contract year if plays well we can use the Fifth year option. It's his move!!

Ok so then you cut Hooper as Henry is Mayes security blanket and this kid brings the potential use of the two tight end packages (albeit not to the same level) that we never fully got to see with Gronk and the guy that shall not be named. Key word is potentially. Does that out weigh picking up an extra draft pick as the middle rounds in this class is deep with talent particularly on the defense and the Pats need help on that side of the ball as well. I dont know the answer but we will see on April 24th.
Hooper is (or is about to be) a free agent.

WHat does that have to do with the point he was making?

Quite a lot. PatFan2 thinks we’re set at LG with Strange so don’t need Campbell, while Manxman says Strange is coming off a major injury where he only played 2 games last year, and is only under control for 1 more season. I agree with that take. We shouldn’t be depending on Strange for anything. If he shows himself healthy in camp and plays well, then great, but if he’s not then LG can be a huge hole like it was last year. Campbell could fill that hole.

Play Strange at LT and Campbell at LG problem solved

Until we get a WR that can prove to be a legit #1, a #1 Offensive Weapon doesn't have to be a WR. Tyler Warren has enough to give Maye a weapon as a Rookie, and will only get better (extremely high upside). Both he and Henry could provide quality targets in the passing game, and open up opportunities for some of the younger WR's to see if they can turn into players worth keeping after this season. And, I'd draft Jayden Higgins as well.

Didn't Cam Robinson get destroyed last year? Haven't we seen enough of that?
