Not sure where the claim that some posters had a hard on for Hoyer is coming from. Don't think anyone gives a sh**t about Hoyer.
The discussion was centered on the actual Jarrett fanboys who believed he was the annointed one after seeing him play fairly well against mainly scrubs, since he didn't do so well against #1 D. The folks that believe Jarrett is now qualified to be a QB#2 vs those who felt he wasn't (like me). Some made the valid argument that dropping Hoyer would free up a needed spot in a team with a lot of talented players. Others were simply goo goo gaga over the kid. Not sure what there is to be embarrassed about over offering opinions on a football forum. Jesus, what kind of a man gets embarrassed over such nonsense? Lmao.
There were posters that suggested Hoyer could lead this team to the playoffs & SB. Not many but a few.
"Our D and running game this year is gonna be really good, meaning average qb may be good enough to win a champ, a rookie is too much of a wildcard for that to happen, we keep Hoyer because w this d and this run game he could conceivably win a SB, a rookie most likely wont"
I was told I didn't know how to evaluate the position. Then Deus suggested Hoyer could actually fill in as a #1. This post below wasnt replying to me, not that it matters. Highlights some of the bs on the Hoyer side.
"Your post is really hightlighting the issue, IMO. Does BB think Stidham, who's not ready to be the #2, is close enough to ready to be the #2 that he can get rid of the guy who's
already a capable #2 and is able to fill in as the #1, if needed? He lucked out in 2012, the year he cut Hoyer and kept Mallet, because Mallet was not ready, and never got ready. Is he willing to take that gamble again?
That's what we're going to find out."
In almost all my post I said there was a path for Hoyer on the team. I wasn't the one throwing out nonsense. I literally suggested Stidham was ready to be QB2 & Bill agreed.
