I sent this e-mail around this morning to my many co-workers and friends who like the Packers:

So did you hear the big football news? Everyone's talking about it.

You know, about Tom Brady being the first player to win the league MVP award with a unanimous vote.

Oh, and I heard there was some sort of game yesterday?

I expect the death threats to start rolling in any minute now.

We are become Colts fans now?

Ouff... Im embarassed for you my-man.

I see nothing wrong with that.

.....weak

Patriots are hated enough

I'm pretty sure Packers fans will be too elated to care.

Tom Brady doesn't give two ****s about the league MVP, unanimous or otherwise.

this is why...

Funny - I am not smoking a cigar due to Brady's MVP.

I could smoke a victory cigar for the Green Bay Packers. And I am not sure if we the Patriots would have beaten the Green Bay Packers yesterday. I guess I will never know.

Still felt good to watch the Steelers go down because the Super Bowl loser does not return to the big game for at least four years (seven years if you are not named New England).

And while I think Ben Rothlesberger is a good QB - I think he is a middle of the pack QB who plays on a good team. Once GB took away the run, they had the upper hand yesterday.

they're so happy today they'll probably find it funny, everythings funny when you win a Super Bowl, the worlds a much friendlier place, at least thats how I remember it.

When you win, say little. And when you lose, say less.

Maybe you should read your byline signature.

Wow, you showed them.

That's like the Germans in June 1945 saying "At least we have schnitzel".

Are you serious? That's just a lame email to send. Get ready for them to rub the "Where were the Pats yesterday? Oh yeah, that's right, the Jets beat them in Foxboro. Moving on..." That's if they even get past the laughter and find a reason to say anything.

I agree with the assessment that this is NOT the kind of direction Pats fans should take. NE is about winning Superbowls, not individual awards.

************, what a bunch of dumb whiners you are. Have you ever heard of the concept of a sense of humor? Do you even know what that means? It's called a JOKE. At least I'm trying to have some fun with this. All you clowns can do is sit around and feel sorry for yourselves, "oh boo hoo, we didn't go to the Super Bowl this year, we're no better than the Bengals or the Lions now." God, get over it already.

So while the Pats won 3 SBs each year you collapsed in hilarity at the Colts fans fellating Manning over his MVPs?

Just trying to understand the Colts fan mentality.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt to the effect that you were being self-deprecatingly sarcastic, pointing out to your friends the relative meaninglessness of winning the MVP when they had won the only prize that mattered. But, a word to the wise; there is such a thing as being "too subtle" if people interpret you as actually believing the nonsense in your email.

Heh. Well done.

I'm sure it'll be greeted with some laughs. Now if you sent that to Jets fans, you would be greeted with mean-spirited retorts.

Heh. I remember how we used to give Colts fans sh!t about celebrating these individual accolades. My, how the tables have turned...
