How does the waivers process work after cut down day

How does the waiver process work when there are so many available bodies? Is it like the draft with multiple rounds of each team acquiring a player in order of standings, or can the lowest ranking team claim multiple players before the next next team has its chance?

Lowest ranking team based on 2016 standings (Browns) gets first dibs on as many players as they want.

Unfortunately that also means that the only players the Patriots can claim are ones that no other team put in a claim for.

That waiver order remains in effect through week three. From week four on it is based on the current 2017 won-loss record, and reset each week.

Waivers go through Sunday for all players cut on either Friday or Saturday. Teams awarded a waiver claim are notified after the deadline (noon Sunday), and all unclaimed players become free agents. Teams can then begin signing up to 10 players to their practice squad starting at 1:00 pm on Sunday.

Partially, because of this, Belichick found the need to use late round draft picks in trade.

Time frame for Waivers and Practice Squad

What is today's time frame for waiver claims and setting practice squads? Can't seem to find any info.

1pm eastern today.

All claims have to be submitted by NOON Eastern. Between NOON and 1PM Eastern the league processes the claims. Teams are notified at 1PM Eastern.

What is the cut off in "veteranism" that results in players skipping waivers like osweiler and ward?

Remember that players with 4 or more years of service are free agents. Those players are subject to waivers only after the trade deadline.
