How Bad Are We?

I saw that comment

He made it seem like Bill won with all of Parcells players. Except Parcells had zero to do with drafting Tom Brady. Belichick did.
Agreed. Drew had actually gotten a contract extension while Brady was on the roster. During the 90s.. Bill Parcells did bring us to relevancy and BB made us a dynasty.

Funny how the three of four posters who ***** about everything haven’t shown up to mention that maybe, just maybe the team isn’t as bad as they thought they were. I guess that isn’t their shtick. Come on Thel,Rain,Triumph let’s hear your thoughts????

I’m waiting for one of them to say Maye was so bad they had to pull him in the 4th quarter.

Thel was busy complaining about post game press conferences.

Classic Thel! Academics struggle in the real world.
An academic? Guy can't teach himself anything or admit when he's wrong, he just disappears for a while. Wait, you're right, he's an academic.

Apparently not that bad.

It felt after the first set of drives it was going to be bad. Maye nearly got picked and Carolina marched down the field. It really could have gone pear-shaped IMO if Marcus Jones didn't light a fire under everyone's asses by his thrilling return. That seemed to snap them out of the funk they were in.

Personally I was not expecting the offense to look this good. It looks as efficient as it did back when Josh was here last time. Some plays didn't work but they tended to set up plays that did work. Personally I thought it'd take more games to see an example of the squad executing Josh's offense as intended. For instance I think this is the first time they used the fullback on some big plays. To me this shows they are "getting it".

And for me this is the first game where I saw enough to convince myself that Drake will be a quality NFL starter for years to come, and he still has room to grow well beyond just a quality starter. He had that shaky start in this game but once he snapped out of it he was consistently excellent. IMO he'll still have his ups and his downs but I think we're seeing when things are going well he can really perform.

They always say to wait four games before judging a team. I'm happy we are 2-2 with the arrow pointing up. We at least have one data point that shows this outfit can execute Josh's offense. Right now I'm more concerned about the overall talent on the D than I am about the O, and am hoping our acting DC can come up with a good game plan to use against the Bills.

Now my recommendation is, don't give the ball to the other team this next week either.

I've noticed a trend with the team at home. Even going back to when we were perennial contenders.. for some strange reason we tend to be lackadasical at home games. Is it the crowd? The complacency of being at home? Can't quite seem to figure it out.

Your correct on your summirization. The defense, yes they have been susceptible to big plays in the passing game.
Largely to having a rookie at safety in Woodson and a veteran who's primarily been a rotational/specialist in Hawkins.

Also not having Gonzo and the CBs all having to play out of pecking order. We have a great rush in wich we get pressure with just rushing 4.. we are a top 5 run defense and pretty good 3rd down defense.

Everything else stands to improve. Last 2 games we held QBs to under 200 yards passing. Giving up 300 yards passing in today's NFL is not out of the normal scope with rules geared towards scoring.

I like the defenses chance to improve even though it likely won't be against buffalo they have some prime opportunity ahead to really stiffle some offenses coming up on the schedule.

The Defense was better when Gibbens came in.
Agreed. Gibben hits the hole and is a sure tackler, he with a mix of Marty should be the primary guys next to Spillane. Eliss on red area, goal line. Last 2 games they've held QBs to under 200 yards passing.

Look at a team like the Ravens who are a contender they have guys on thier defense and that defense can't stop anything.
