Let’s talk Jacas. Is it physical, mental, both?

If that was your point, whether he would contribute early or not then it's a valid question, howeve that wasn't the premise of your post. You weren't saying that he wouldn't contribute early this season, you were questioning his athletic ability, and whether he is " physically inferior."
I’m not making any conclusion about what he is or is not yet.

I’m pretty much just saying it’s valid to have concerns with his performance. He looked that way out on the field in the preseason. It doesn’t mean he always will be. It’s just how it looked. It tells me at best case scenario, he isn’t ready to contribute early in the season. That may change by later in the season.

Safe to say - i think we all want him to succeed, mentally and physically as a player
Of course. My point was simply that to form a final judgment would be premature. I understand this may be an obvious point, but as we are in the doldrums, awaiting the all-too-obvious cuts, and I have no interest in discussing Vrabel's sexual peccadilloes nor to participate in further whining about how "cheap" the Krafts are - both unworthy wastes of time - the quality of posts here are bound to drop.

I am a compulsive writer. Maybe I'll go on over to National Review Online and pester the more pretentious knuckledraggers over there. I could mock the leftists in their bailiwicks, I suppose, but that's just too easy.

I agree.

He played like a raw rookie who missed a lot of TC. This may or may not be made up within this season.

I would settle for him being #4 or even #5 in the EDGE rotation in his rookie year.

Jacas looked lost like beck wethers on the slopes of everest out there.
You took a lot of heat with posters coming at you left and right when you criticized Jacas for his contract battle with the Pats. Posters were saying how it wasn’t a big deal he missed time and playing edge is easy to pick up….until he struggles badly in the preseason.

This thread is filled with the “missed time” excuse. There’s no excuse for him crashing down like he did on the first play in the clip previously posted which had nothing to do with “missed time”. That is basic understanding of the game. Tanner is right, he’s absolutely unplayable right now.

No matter what round you are picked in, get your contract squared away and get your ass involved with the program day 1 - not August 1st. Posters are going to have to accept Jacas has a bullseye on his back and will be criticized until proven otherwise.

The comments on YouTube are funny calling him Keion White 2.0. People are also arguing with Evan Lazar on X about this. I agree with the comments as I see the similarities in playing style.
Gabe missed alot of time and Coach Mike Smith eluded to this during camp. He essentially is playing catch up and just doing things of natural talent and still learning techniques. This is Mini camp for him essentially. I still have high hopes for him. K. Whites issue were 100% mental and stubbornness to evolve as a player.

FTFY.

LOL. Thanks. I have a habit of recasting sentences halfway through, then neglecting to go back and sync the first half of the sentence with the incongruent first. I guess "posts" was rattling around in my octogenarian head when I chose my verb. I worked as a technical writing for a number of years (for General Electric: repair and overhaul manuals for military equipment), and we always checked one another's stuff because you tend to see what you imagine is there rather than what actually is there when you reread your own writings, particularly for whatever reason when you are working on a screen rather than with a hard copy. This one stings a little, since I have probably told students about 500 times that "the object of a preposition cannot be the subject of a verb." Sometimes I would go on to say that when an indefinite pronoun is the subject of a verb the number of the object of the prepositional phrase which often follows the pronoun can indirectly determine the number of the verb, as in "Some of the boards look crooked." vs. "Some of the board looks straight." They always found this every bit as fascinating as you just did.

FWIW, I am prepared to defend "I guess 'posts' was rattling around...," notwithstanding how odd it looks. For one thing, it does not look nearly as odd, or as medically dire, as "posts were rattling around in my head."
