Gronkowski committed to 2018

Be careful about suggesting competition for our players. Some posters here hate that idea.
So true. My suggestion is not that a TE in the draft is going to be Gronk. Gronk will go down as the best of all time. But having some quality at the position helps in three fold. It creates a double threat on the field down the seams. It creates an insurance policy in case of injury. It creates competition at the position. Oh well

Just select Dallas Goedert with the 31st selection the next Travis Kelce. That's as good a consolation as any.

Ray- I just started back in here earlier today.
I saw the big dope Gronk was acting like a big dope....again and I just wanted to confirm my thoughts that of course pats fans would try to give him a pass .......again.
Confirmed.
Don’t worry gang we will be discussing the dark days**** soon enough. Right now the subject is Gronk.
Well you’ve been dead about 20 years (and there is really no difference in ownership between Woody and a dead Hess) and on the field nothing has changed except the name of your old team. It’s j-e-t-e now. Yeah the players are wicked good at spelling like their fans. Glad you could return for the 50th Anniversary.

No way I see Gronk getting a extension from a BB Team with his antics and injury history...2018 it is have a nice acting career Curly.

now that gronk is committed, its the perfect time for bb to pull the rug out from under him, just like he did with Butler
Whaaat???

I like the player, but this does not make us better next year. He won’t have much of a role as a rookie TE.

I think we need instant impact guys.

Back to back thousand yards season is phenomenal in any league.

First Brady
Then Gronk
All that's left to complete the triangle of invincibility is word on....
Magic Hands ...aka.....Liquid Heat....aka.......The Big Rub.....aka.......Tommy's Boy

Question we should be asking is does this player make us better in the long term?

Smells like jete in here tonight

Great news about Gronk. With all those reports about Brady and Gronk it sure felt a little ominous. But I'm feeling hopeful that some of these issues are being dealt with and dissipating.

Wonder if Gronk was wearing his moto cross suit when meeting with BB?

The thing if find so amusing about all this is that both the guys who have been the subject of all this drama BOTH are under contract for the next 2 years and neither have ever felt the need to make an announcement declaring their intention of playing another year. (actually, Brady still hasn't, but rather his agent felt the need to make it for him.)

Just about everything I wrote in the "Hurray, Brady is coming back" thread is applicable in this thread. Much ado about nothing. Just a lot of sturm and drang in the mediots' desperate search for creating content even where there really isn't. Expect a week of back peddling with a full barrage of "well, we COULD have been right and here's why" articles, podcasts, and narratives.

But don't think this will be the end of the prevailing "the sky is falling on the Patriots" narrative any time soon. After nearly 20 years of UNPRECEDENTED success, you got to figure there HAS to be a step back eventually. As long as they keep on spouting this nonsense because they will end up being right.

Remember 2001 was a fluke season....according to them. After the 2005 season, it was all over.....according to them. After the 2009 season, see 2005 and repeat, and so it goes over and over. The Pats have been to the AFCCG for the last half dozen years and won 2 more super bowls. In a single elimination playoff system, that is an incredible feat. I really don't think people realize just how HARD it is to GET to a Superbowl, let alone win one.

Clony!!
How are ya my horribly accented neighbor from the North!?
I only speak the truth. Yes the truth does have a tendency to sting sometimes.
Gronks and Brady’s best days are way way back there in their rear view mirrors.
It was a nice run*** while it lasted.
We’ll get into the *** at another time.

WTF are you rambling on about? Holy shyt. You've got nothing but a black and white poster of a leggings wearing creaton from 50 years ago. We've got recent and past memories of the greatest QB of all time. You're never going to experience that. Your team has been trapped in its own vortex of suckage for 50 years. The only team you could effectively troll is the Browns. hahaha. What a freaking joke.

Go jete yourself.

Yeah, but to count on instant impact guys you need to have some rookies, adjust them to the system and one day we can call them "instant impact guys".

Hey Joker. How are ya!?
Gronk, the often injured, ass clown, motor cross rider, unfocused used to be, should be traded on draft day for picks.
You see my life doesn’t revolve any player or team.
How many of you in here have those tacky team logos all over your vehicles?
Lol.

Leon Hess? LOL.

One question. Which of you has decomposed faster, you or your pathetic football team?
