Funny, Brady frequently threw to Moss when he was doubled and tripled covered and many times he threw the ball to him in such tight coverage that if he threw the same pass to virtually any other receiver, it was a sure pick.
Brady has no problem throwing to a receiver in tight coverage if he has confidence that receiver will almost definitely come down with the ball or at the very least break it for an INT. Brady threw to Moss/throws to Gronk in tight coverage because he knew they would come down with the ball.
If Brady has the confidence in Lloyd to break free at the last second, he will have no problem throwing to him in coverage. Just like Gronk, he has a big catch radius. Just like Moss, he will fight for the ball and win more often than not in jump balls with tight coverage.
And once Moss stopped fighting for the ball, Brady's INT rate rose rapidly, followed by Brady finally not throwing to the guy and at the end Moss getting his ass traded since he'd become useless here even as a decoy.
It is all about faith with Brady and this is a good early sign.
